Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Wells

Hi Stephanie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?

Hi there, my name is Stephanie Wells. I went to college at University of New Mexico for criminology & psychology, and graduated with my bachelors degree in 2016. While attending UNM, I worked as a paralegal for a law firm for 4 years. I very quickly realized that working behind a desk wasn’t for me. Despite my family’s wishes, I went back to school at Aveda Institute New Mexico for esthiology. I’ve always been passionate about skincare and the health of our largest organ, so I felt the happiest in finally pursuing that path in life. After working for two salons, I learned a lot and knew I always wanted to venture off on my own as a business owner. I made that dream a reality when I opened my doors as Luna Wax Studio in 2022, rebranding into Citrus Skin Bar in the summer of 2023.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?

Being a business owner has been the most rewarding and fulfilling chapter of my life thus far. I feel proud and blessed to be able to say that I really haven’t had any struggles or setbacks so far.

We’ve been impressed with Citrus Skin Bar , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

I am a licensed esthetician specializing in full body waxing, facials and acne treatment, dermaplaning, intimate skin lightening, lash and brow tinting, and brow laminations. I am known for my Brazilian waxing and my brow services. What sets me apart from others is the level of professionalism I strive to give to every single client, while also creating a safe space for every single person who walks through my door. I truly love all of my clients and listen to their needs and wants when it comes to the services they pay for. I always hope to be the person that they trust in terms of aiding in their personal appearance and self confidence. I am most proud of the business I have built all on my own. I opened CSB with no knowledge of how running a business works, with the exception of seeing my in laws work in their business. After several people having doubts about whether or not I’d be successful, I have proven them wrong. I feel so blessed.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?

I wish I could go back and do things differently. I would have opened my business with the funding and time that we had while at home. I also learned that people definitely prioritize their beauty treatments now, since they learned how it was to not be able to receive them haha.
