Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Stephanie Sterling. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Stephanie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
As a fatherless child myself, I understand what it feels like to feel a void most of your life. Trying to feel it with things or people that are not best for you. Once I healed, I wanted to help others who experienced the same trauma. I want to help you heal and be a better version of yourself. You are not alone!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Our holistic well-being and community development helps professional women to become their authentic self, achieve wholeness, and personal development by removing childhood trauma, increasing their self-awareness, and guiding them to wholeness beyond their father’s absence.
My book, Fatherless Success, was just the beginning of launching my brand. The Authentic Stephanie Sterling LLC focuses on helping others with their fatherless trauma. I host a variety of events to connect with women and provide personal and professional resources for them to succeed in life. A Ladies Affair, which I launched in 2022, is a space where I allow women to heal, grow, and receive the resources they need.
Also, I have the pleasure of speaking to youth and women organizations about healing, coping, and personal development. I enjoy being able to pour into my community and others I meet to help them navigate life. Although my journey has been filled with so many unknowns, I take pride in staying on course and learning to embrace who I am. You are not alone on this journey!
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn how I talk to people. I used to think that I could say whatever and however. I didn’t understand how this affected people’s emotions or feelings. This was something I saw in my household growing up, so I thought it was fine. On my journey, I learned how to talk in love when I must have difficult conversations and I learned empathy most importantly.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
As a teenager, I suffered from depression. This was a dark time for me. However I learned how to communicate my feelings and not keep things bottled up. Therapy taught me to express my feelings and own my emotions in a healthy way.
