We recently connected with Stephanie Singleton and have shared our conversation below.
Stephanie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later
If I could go back in time I absolutely wish I had started my business sooner!
I unofficially started my business several years ago and and at that point my children were grown and I had been working in the corporate world for over 25 years.
Had I started sooner I definitely would have been a full time entrepreneur and have no doubt that my coaching business would have been thriving. Also, the opportunity to create a schedule that suits my life would have provided the opportunity to travel frequently and to spend more time with my family.
Stephanie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For as far back as I can remember in my life, I have been the go to for friends, family, and acquaintances for input or advice on life situations; even strangers have approached me randomly often sharing deeply personal information. All of this plus the desire to genuinely help people, has led me to becoming a Mindset Coach because I truly believe that everything in our lives, positive or negative, start in our minds!
I am all about transformation through unlocking your potential, breaking free from limiting beliefs, and cultivating a mindset that empowers you to live authentically, boldly, and fearlessly.
My goal is to share my personal thoughts, experiences, conversations with friends, and things I have learned along the way to inspire and encourage others who want to embrace a journey of self-discovery, growth, and mindset shift to Be Fantabulous!
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Sometimes life often life’s in my world which simply mean things happens that are out of my control.
I also have endured many personal losses (miscarriages, divorce, death of loved ones) and made plenty of mistakes but through it all I have been able to recover and persevere, as well adapt under many uncomfortable situations which has given me the strength to know that I can recover from anything that comes my way.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
An unfortunate lesson that I had to learn was that not everyone claiming to be a friend will cheer for you or want to see you successful, especially if they are not living up to their own potential.
I have had people in my past that showed me who they were and that their intentions were not always at my best interest. And because I wanted to believe that they would not mistreat me in certain ways, I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. But as Maya Angelou says “When people show you who they are, believe them the first time.”
These lessons taught me to be more mindful of who I allow access to me and never tolerate mistreatment after the first time.
