We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Stephanie Pohlman a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Stephanie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start big picture – what are some of biggest trends you are seeing in your industry?
I am seeing a trend in natural, organic textures and soft lines. One of my favorite ways to implement this design is through hard finishes. We love stone, lacquered brass finishes, and natural wood tones. Blending these organic elements with new will give you the most timeless and effortlessly timeless look! To add character to your home, consider arch openings and millwork details. Having these components in your home will always make for a classic look.

Stephanie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Stephanie Pohlman. I am an interior designer in Saint Louis, MO. We are a full service design firm that specializes in residential interiors for remodels and new builds. We also provide services for all new furniture and decor, but we have a project minimum at this time. We create livable designs that will make our clients love their home!

How did you build your audience on social media?
I started my instagram page when I first started my business and shared photos from my own home remodel. I tried to post every day and engage with other designers with pages like mine! I always tried to keep my feed cohesive, because for my industry, it acts as a portfolio. Many clients come to me from instagram and like what they see, and ultimately want to hire us to design something with our aesthetic!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I love when my clients see their home after our final install day. All of our visions and plans come to life, and it’s so rewarding!
