We were lucky to catch up with Stephanie Nash recently and have shared our conversation below.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I think just offering a platform that is unapologetically me. I can be pretty out there for some people but I believe there is a call for action. Most leaders in my industry are either tired of fighting or blinded by fancy wording that consumers push for but fails to support the men and women growing our food.
The brand is No Farms No Food and I created this saying when I started my platform in 2019. I start every video with firing away with the subject at hand and then explaining the reason why the topic is so important. Without consumers we wouldn’t have jobs and without our farmers consumers wouldn’t have food! I believe agriculture is bipartisan and people want the truth behind what is on their dinner table.
Not only do I advocate on social media but from March to November I run farm tours on our dairy for Tennessee residents. THIS IS BIG. This is crucial to create the connection from urban to rural and allow consumers to learn hands on about agriculture. When consumers see and interact with a farmer, opinions will turn into trust. Trust will connect with decisions they make at the grocery store.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I just started posting. I posted back in 2019 about how many farmers and ranchers were being sold. The response was outstanding. Who knew that so many people across the world cared about us. How would I know that I would go on to be on national news and traveling sharing my story with an industry I love so deeply. Take the leap. Be yourself. The best advice I can tell you is to skip opportunities that don’t align with your heart. People will respect you more for fighting for something instead of going along with the crowd! I 100% stand by that.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I believe the agriculture companies that wanted to stay neutral rather than fight for the people who they are suppose to represent. I have been told no many times and yet I can’t slow down. I think there is change that is needed and we can either continue to be safe or we can defend generations of great people.
