Stephanie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
Staying in Agriculture. A huge risk with our industry.
Not only staying in an industry, I am passionate about but adding my beliefs into my love for country music. The last two years I have built a following some some do not agree with but I will say it has made me such a proud person. I am not following the narrative or what is popular, I get to be me.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I brand myself as an agriculture warrior. A farmer that is fed up with other people educating for me and telling my story. Most people haven’t endured what my family has. Most people don’t understand the love I have for our family farmers and ranchers. Most people buy at the grocery store and don’t want to ask where their food is coming from. My brand is fierce and honest. You won’t expect anything but the truth. I have also used that the truth in my latest single “raised on”. Showing the strong women who dedicate their life to agriculture.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Goal is to use my music and advocacy to create a following to trust in our rural communities. Build trust between consumer and producer.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Story telling. Being able to write the lyrics, work on Rhythm, work on melody’s and on the full production. Every step is crucial to myself and the people that will be listening to my music. I believe country music is more then the spotlight, it is people who have gone through experiences and actually live that story they are singing. This world is full of to much influencers and not enough realness.
