Stephanie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I can’t say I learned to be Funny because I was always naturally Funny. I would say, I got a lot of practice in with making my Friends and family laugh. I became fascinated with making people laugh I didn’t know. Also 2 years before I started comedy I went to as many comedy show I could just to watch the craft from skilled veterans in the game.. Trying to see if I could find someone like me not realizing then that I would never because No one can be me. That’s when I made the decision to start. And until this day I’m often told my delivery style is unique and it’s been working for me every sense. I believe All entertainers should subscribe to.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I’m a Standup comedian from Cincinnati,Ohio. A Standup comedian is something I always wanted to be. However. my mother felt Standup comedy wasn’t a real career. So she encouraged me to get a real job. So while in High school I took technical classes in Dental Assisting and became a Dental assistant. After school life took off fast for me. I got married months after graduating became pregnant, had 2 children and let just say my dream of being a comedian took a back seat to this new life I was thrust into. Meanwhile it was something that always stayed on my mind. However, as I grew older and many years had passed raising a family, being a wife and working full-time. I wasn’t sure how it would all work out and of course the fear of possibly being rejected once I took that leap. To my surprise though at the age of 31 I scheduled my first open mic at a little bar in Mt.Healthy Ohio in a plaza and Killed it. How I know? The audience was crying 🤣🤣 laughing and the numerous feedback on my performance. Many didn’t want to believe it was my first time touching a mic. And from there on I was hooked, realizing I had everything in me it takes to make complete strangers laugh. I only invited 2 family members for that reason. I wanted nothing but unbiased feedback. After doing comedy couple of years in my city, I decided to move. I wanted to see where I stand in a Bigger city full of Talented comedians. So I asked God if he would provide away financially I would move to Georgia. Provisions were made and off me and my family went December 18th 2014. I was soo excited to begin my journey in my new home of Georgia. Let’s just say I was home sick and trying to get accumulated the first 2 years but once settled in I started to make great strides in the business. Performing on the road with Shuler King, JJ. Williamson and more. However, In April of 2017 I lost my big sister in a tragic car accident and couldn’t figure out how to deal with the pain of her sudden lost and be funny. So I took a break away. In that almost 3 year break I spiraled into severe depression and anxiety. I closed myself off from everything and everyone because it was the only way I knew how to protect myself in my vulnerable state. In 2019 I grew weary in allowing myself to stay in a grief stricken state. So I started my journey of working on cleaning up my mental health. Letting go of the hurt and pain of a situation I could not change. I started by showing myself grace in my low times but also not allowing myself to stay there but a moment before thinking on those things which are Good. The more I did this practice the more I realized life was worth living to it Fullest. And I didn’t want to live the rest of my time sad and closed off to the world. I felt like a empty vessel for those few years. Trying to figure out a way to fill myself back up again. However. I was blessed by a few Good people in my corner that encouraged my return to the stage. Thanks to Rodney Perry, Kiana Dancie, Shuler King, Hank Denson and Garrett Abdo. Now I’m back like I’ve never left and making amazing strides in my comedy career again. Since my return I’ve filmed a comedy pilot with Jokes and jamzz with Ed Lover from Yo! Mtv raps, Made a Viral guest appearance on the “Hey Steve” Harvey show 5 million views Semi finalist for Kenan Thompson comedy showcase, Filmed Keep your Distance with KevOnStage, Winner of Chocolate Sundaes first Impressions virtual and will be heading to Hollywood to perform Live @ The Laugh Factory.. Nominated for Atlanta’s Hottest Female Comedian Award at ATLHOTTEST.COM Voting begins August 22nd – November 14th 2022 and soo much more. My biggest accomplishment is overcoming depression and anxiety. Getting back to what I Love seeing people happy which fills me with joy. Comedy is soo therapeutic to everyone involved. I just want my people to know, I genuinely care for them and desire to see them happy. It’s okay to be vulnerable and that you can get back up. Stronger, Better and make beautiful things happen. Life is worth living happily

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
To be who I promised my 5 year old self to be. A Great comedian while providing Joy to the world.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part about being a Comedian is the feedback you get from your audience about how making them laugh brightened their day and lifted their mood. Many people struggle with things we’re unaware of and it feels great to know you had a part in creating relief and a escape from their current trails and brought them Joy. It literally makes my heart Full because I know what it’s like going through some things people know nothing about. I used other talented comedians platforms to bring joy back in my own life. Comedians need to laugh too. It’s vital to us all. It’s food for the soul.
