We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Stephanie Marquez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Stephanie , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I just want my legacy to live on for years after years I opened up MarqBlendz BarberShop to keep my dad’s legacy alive and I hope I’ve made a difference in others lives in this industry to keep my legacy going I hope my legacy will be to remain the #1 barbershop in Irving tx with the best barbers in town

Stephanie , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Well my name is Stephanie marquez I’m 31 years old I got into this barber industry by picking up some clippers and just patching up my little cousin lol that lead me to want to get better and give the greatest haircuts I can give in my opinion .I didn’t plan to open up a barber shop if I did I had the goal to do it at age 32 I did it at age 29 which I think is amazing , when it comes to my clients man I just want them to have a great experience, customer service making sure they are being greeted with respect and feel welcomed . If there is ever a problem I do all I can to make it right so they continue to come back . My barbershop is what I’m most proud of I jus want lots of clients to come in and have all my Barbers busy I want my team to eat ! I run my business differently then most barber shops and I’m proud of that I have a respectful and responsible team that’s ready to grind and attend to our clients
We’d appreciate any insights you can share with us about selling a business.
So I decided I wanted to open up a second barbershop I learned a really big lesson . For one you can’t trust anyone with your business cause it isn’t theirs they won’t treat it right ! They won’t work hard they won’t be make sure it’s running how it’s supposed too ! I had to sell my second shop due to not being able to find reliable barbers that were ready to grind they just wanted the clients to land on their lap that’s the problem with the barbers this day in age they want it easy but don’t know u have to really work for it

Do you sell on your site, or do you use a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc?
I have something in the works …. Stay tuned
