We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Stephanie Love. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Stephanie below.
Stephanie, appreciate you joining us today. What were some of the most unexpected problems you’ve faced in your career and how did you resolve those issues?
Music has been everything to me ever since I can remember. When I was younger I had plans to move to another city and let my career thrive. Back in 2019 I was getting ready for my first live performance in the city of Los Angeles California. All at the same time, planning a small intimate tour with my team along with a brand new album. Unfortunately the pandemic hit and it felt as if my life completely changed form that point. My mentor an extremely talented audio engineer and one of the producers for the Lust EP passed away. Going through the grieving process I wrote, Okay for the I Love Me First EP. Produced by Nico Steele and Engineered by Kevin Ochoa. All done remotely in the thick of the pandemic. Things slowly but surely started to pick up but then I got incredibly sick. Towards the end of the year 2020 I was struggling with my health, May 27th 2021 I was rushed to the hospital and got diagnosed with type one diabetes. I will admit it’s been quite a journey but now it’s 2022 and I can safely say I’m back on track with new stories. a new prospective, and of course brand new music. I’m not allowed to say when the songs will be released but I could safely assure you that it will be very soon.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started taking an interest in performing at a very young age and luckily my parents fully supported it. having a child that wants to be a professional in the entertainment industry can definitely be challenging especially for a single mother who has multiple jobs, all at the same time trying to create a better life for her family. Sidenote, I didn’t learn how to read until the end of the first grade. I didn’t know that I needed glasses nor did I know that I was dyslexic. Learning that about myself was a bit of a game changer for me. From a young age I absolutely loved reading poetry because it was short sweet simple and very creative. From reading to writing my own poetry it all evolved to getting the confidence to finally write my own songs. My first year of college I met Professor Jay Henry Who ended up becoming more than just a mentor, he was like family. Not only did he educate on everything I know about the music industry, he also gave me the confidence to release my own songs and helped me build my team. Since that moment I dedicated time to getting better as a Songwriter, singer, and overall as a musician. I’ve had many wonderful opportunities to travel and perform on the very same stage I have seen my idols perform.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is hearing people singing my songs back to me and telling me how much they can relate. As a songwriter I pour my heart out every time and it’s such a vulnerable thing to do. Performing can be scary but it’s also the most rewarding feeling in the world.

: Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
If there’s one thing I haven’t done yet that I want to do so badly is, to have the opportunity to travel the world and sing on a different stage every night. That’s what living the dream looks like to me.
