Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Stephanie Kirby. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Stephanie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Alright, so one thing we think people don’t talk about nearly enough is investments – either time or money. What’s one of the best or worst investments you’ve made and what did you learned from the experience?

Honestly the worst investment I made also turned into a big blessing. In 2021 I hired a marketing expert to help me build an email funnel to help me sell my online Shadow Work courses.

Most of what this expert wanted to do felt ethically out of alignment with me and my business. I do feel like he was very professional and courteous but the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth and skewed my view of marketing in general.

However, not long after that I found an online marketing coach who really spoke to my whole ethos and allowed me to gauge my whole jaded perspective on marketing. This particular coach encouraged me to be authentic and that my ideal customers and clients would gravitate towards me.

It’s worked! Im so glad I never have to try any marketing gimmicks again to successfully speak to my people.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I am a Shadow Work coach because of my own journey through life and the ‘darkness’ I had to encounter and transmute along the path. I have been a spiritual seeker for my entire life and through my own Shadow Work integration process I learned invaluable tools and practices to integrate trauma and work towards wholeness.

I mainly work with clients 1:1 to guide them in their own inner journeys through zoom sessions and uniquely designed homework assignments. I love working with my clients as they all remind me of myself at different stages of my life and I feel like this makes me exceptionally capable of helping them in profound ways.

I also have written a guided workbook on Shadow Work and I sell two digital courses I have created to help those who cant work with me personally. I host different women’s groups for empowerment and embodiment. Please check my links to see how to work with me.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

My first online business was a handcrafted botanical skincare line. I am a licensed esthetician and after developing chronic illness symptoms and detoxifying my household I started creating my own skincare. I did. this to avoid unpleasant allergic type reactions from my very sensitive system.

I loved my skincare line and creating the different products doing research on many different ingredients containers, labels etc.
However after a few years my passion for it started to diminish, I just wasn’t as interested in skincare anymore and I found it hard to sell my products without the passion I felt before.

I kept my social media and website going while I turned my attention to shadow work and a new business, but eventually I just stopped selling and posting and it’s basically a prefect that is over at this point. I always think I might go back to it someday, I guess time will tell.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

One lesson I had to unlearn as a business owner who mainly connects with people through social media is to stop comparing myself to other people.

It was such a big hindrance for me as a small business owner who is required to spend multiple hours a day on social media to go and compare myself and my business to other creators.

When I truly realized how much energy I was wasting comparing myself i quickly shifted gears and I don’t engage in that behavior anymore. I’m so grateful for that!
