We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Stephanie Kerkechian. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Stephanie below.
Hi Stephanie, thanks for joining us today. What’s the best advice you ever gave to a client? How did they benefit / what was the result? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
I helped guide my client through a total body makeover. She wanted to drop weight, but her main problem was not eating enough protein. She had been trying yo-yo type diets and over training. I restructured her meals, brought in more protein in her meal plans, lessened her training . She followed my program and dropped some weight and gained muscle! She looked amazing!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a 53 year old mother of four amazing children ( grown adults) and two precious grand children! I have been married for over 27 years. to my soul mate. With God and the strength of my family I have been able to branch put on my own as a Personal trainer , nutrition coach, special needs trainer, fitness instructor! You are Never too old to do fitness. I work with all ages and stages. I work with more mature adults with balance issues to young adults with Autism. I love to watch people grow in strength and confidence with fitness and nutrition. I work with most my clients face to face, but I have an online presence, too. I can train people in other states or countries and love to travel right to local peoples home. I meet you where you are and show and motivate where you can go!! I was formally a professional dancer and then was a police officer. I believe that has given me the ability to train in all different arenas!
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
I believe I am my best advertisement! If i’m not doing what I preach then what is my purpose! I also think always being ready to learn and not thinking you ” have arrived”.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
I believe setting realistic goals for your clients. Focussing on strength and not numbers. I think be transparent with my clients about my own struggles and life. Being a coach but also coming along side them as the start their fitness journey. Then they pass “the word” to others and they want me to coach or train them!
