We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Stephanie Goodwin. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Stephanie below.
Stephanie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I was very young when I knew I wanted to pursue a creative path. I was a dancer growing up and I think it was definitely a way for me to have an outlet for my creativity. I always had such huge dreams growing up, I wanted to be a professional singer, I wanted to be an actor on Disney Channel, I wanted to be a writer. But ultimately I wanted the rush of doing something fun and earn a living while doing so. I remember I used to put on “concerts” for my siblings in my bedroom, I used to put on dance productions in the living room, and I wrote short stories on the big old desktop computer in my bedroom. I always felt that pull to let out my creativity and it has never gone away.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a content creator and influencer based in Tampa, FL, and I use “content creator” as a very broad title. I started off on YouTube about 3 years ago and quickly fell in love with the creative aspect of filming and editing videos. Since then, I have gotten my feet wet in content creation on Instagram, Tiktok and Pinterest. I’ve worked with several brands including Curology and Ana Luisa NY and have built a small, loyal community in the process. Over the last couple months I have started to wean over to UGC. UGC, for those that don’t know, stands for User Generated Content. And what that means is that I make content to help market products for brands as an authentic consumer. Basically meaning this content is modern day word of mouth, like learning about a product from one of your best friends!
Creating content is my biggest passion, I’m constantly thinking about new ideas and what props I can use around my house to make these videos and photos stand out. I’ve always believed passion is your super power, it’s what drives and pushes you in life. What is life without that thing that lights a spark in you? I think what makes me stand out is that I put so much authenticity into my work. I want my viewers and my clients to be able to look at my work and see how much I truly love what I do. I put my heart and soul into my content because I wholeheartedly believe in it, and most importantly, in myself.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the connections I make with people. I think that’s a huge part of why I fell in love with YouTube in the first place. I am able to reach so many people from all around and share my life with them. It’s the best feeling in the world when someone tells you how much they love your content or when they ask when your next video comes out because they can’t wait to watch it. When people relate to you and want to see you succeed, it pushes you to do better everyday.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I think my biggest goal is to make this my full time job, right now it’s just a side hustle until I’m able to grow my audience more. But my mission is to continue connecting and reaching more people. We as humans need connection, and I just want to spread love and light everywhere I go. I want to inspire people, but I also want to continue to inspire myself. I aspire to be the best version of myself and I think it’s important to continue to reach for that everyday. We can make the world better by first making ourselves better.
