We were lucky to catch up with Stephanie Goff recently and have shared our conversation below.
Stephanie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
The foundation and core of Verity Benefits, even the name itself, is based on integrity and doing for others in a positive and impactful way. We don’t just strive to find clients the best health and life insurance for their needs or for their business and employees, but we strive to do it in a way that shows that client that they are a part of the family. We do small things like birthday cards, phone calls, text messages to say hello…but most importantly we treat each person with care and compassion from beginning to end. We occasionally have giveaways for health care items and in some cases those giveaways make a real difference for people. Annually we try to hold a client appreciation event to just say thank you for giving us the opportunity to be such an important part of their life.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I entered the health insurance space working with financial advisors in the Dallas area. I knew shortly after I began helping people and educating on difficult topics like Medicare that it was something very rewarding to me. I could quickly see the difference I was making both in providing a calm, clear understanding and by financially allowing people to make significant changes in their life. I’ve had clients that were able to retire just by us finding a great plan at an affordable cost. Health insurance and medication can be a very stressful area for many people and we work hard to reduce the stress and financial burden that it sometimes brings. I’m very proud of the standards that we have that allow us to get close to our clients and allow us to be a constant source of assistance with health plans, physicians, medication assistance and many other areas. When I have a client hug me or tell me what a difference I’ve made for them and their family I know I’m in the right space and doing what I can to serve my community!
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
We work with many physicians in our communities, helping their patients with their health insurance needs. Our help allows these offices to give an added service to patients when they need to find a plan, make changes, or when they are approaching Medicare and simply need help navigating the process of setting up Medicare plans. Additionally, these partnerships give me the opportunity to build relationships with professionals that we all need and rely on. I have many partnerships and each provides a different perspective and environment so it’s helpful for me to have that resource when my clients are looking for a new provider.
My next most valuable growth strategy is client referrals. We absolutely love when we see our clients trust us and want their friends and family to also be a part of what we offer. Nothing is more important than knowing you are doing the right thing and seeing that in those that rely on you day after day, year after year.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I really love staying in front of our clients and helping them get the most out of their health plans. I feel like that’s what sets us apart from other agencies…we take the time to educate, share knowledge, and ask for feedback to make us better at what we do. We send emails to remind clients to use over the counter credits, reminders when enrollment periods are opening, and informational emails to share what’s changing in the health and life insurance space. We also have social media outlets to share valuable information that can help our clients and community members focus on health and other helpful things in daily life.
