We recently connected with Stephanie Fletcher and have shared our conversation below.
Stephanie, appreciate you joining us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
January of 2020, 20+ years into a health and wellness career, I was told I had breast cancer. After the shock wore off, we got to work. I knew TONS about how the body can heal itself but I knew nothing about cancer. I have always been someone who learns better on the streets than in books so I guess you could say, I received a doctorate in healing and cancer in a short period of time by becoming a patient:)
I decided to journey my “Cancering to Healing” journey out loud on social media. There is SO much fear in cancer that I wanted people to see a different side. I had 4 kids and I knew there was no time for fear and feeling sorry for myself. I wanted my kids to see me deal with adversity in a way I would hope they would. It took God, family, community and a LOT of generous humans to come along side of our family.
We also had no idea the world would be shutting down a few short weeks later.
All of the conventional and holistic treatment led me into an integrative healing world I didn’t even know existed. I was able to coach other women healing from cancer, I was able to partner up with different companies that had products or services that helped with healing and my world opened up! I truly believe I lived out my story to only heal from so much more than cancer but to also, help the world view healing in a different way! I’ve always said “be a continuous student” but never thought my greatest teacher would be cancer.
1.5 years, I took another pivot and got into the private event space! I know…odd change after 23 years in health and wellness! But I needed to take a little pause from coaching clients and being in the cancer space for a while. Part of my healing journey is knowing to listen to what I need so I took a step back and got a job as the Chief Happiness Officer at Pedrotti’s Ranch! This has given me a fun focus while maintaining my social media presence and continuing to collaborate with brands that promote health and healing!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I graduated with a degree in Exercise Science- Corporate Wellness from Abilene Christian University. I launched into a career in health and wellness as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor and years later holistic health coach. I LOVED helping people with their fitness goals and general wellness goals from the time I took on my first client!
I’ve been married 21 years and have 4 amazing kiddos which are what I’m MOST proud of for sure! As a business owner and now pivoting into the world of curating events (yes, that’s a 180, HA!) I honestly am most proud when clients know I’ve poured my blood sweat and tears into something and they see the results of our collaboration!
Although I’m not taking on new clients in this season as a holistic health coach, I am keeping up with social media and continuing to consult or partner up with brands that align with my beliefs and knowledge! So if I’m not curating special events at the ranch, or traveling with my kids sports activities, you can find me trying new holistic products, tasting new healthy foods or finding time to take care of ME!
I’m an open book and an extremely honest book:) So always feel free to ask me anything! I find it helpful when someone I trust finds products or services that are ACTUALLY clean and good for healing! Especially healing from cancer! Cancer numbers are unfortunately continuing to rise, so I don’t believe the answer is necessarily in a pharmaceutical cure (though it for sure can be part of the journey) but a FARMaceutical one. We need to dig deep into our mental and spiritual wellness, get back to eating from the earth, play in the sun, own less, move more, drink clean water and give ourselves more grace. That is what will start to swing the pendulum back into a healing direction.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
No one wants to be experienced in cancer to learn, but that is the only thing I believe changed me from the inside out! I think going through tough experiences you can either learn from it and use it, or you can be crushed by it. Instead of fearing something hard you are facing, choose to let it be your greatest teacher. It’s amazing how looking at something scary as a learning opportunity takes most of the fear right out of it.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
As a fitness instructor, outdoor fitness business owner, holistic health coach and now an event curator, I believe my reputation has always followed because of my authenticity. When business owners and leaders aren’t authentic, people can sniff that out. I’ve always used authenticity, honesty, my humor and a “don’t think too long on it…just jump” attitude. Sometimes we can question and knowledge ourselves RIGHT OUT of a grand idea. I jump and then if it doesn’t work, I look back and try to learn why:)
