Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Stephanie Cobb. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Stephanie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
When it comes to telling the story behind the idea behind the business I get excited each and every time. From the name, to the colors & even the logo was orchestrated by God. The idea I truly believe already existed within me. The many areas of brokenness I’ve experienced in my life was the start. While going through each experience allowed me to see deep inside there was a purpose behind it. Not fully understanding it until I saw my dad take his last breathe before my eyes. To experience losing a parent was an event I wasn’t expecting in that way. Even though I’ve experienced many form of brokenness within my life; this added event of losing a parent took it to another level. The idea that was within was definitely awakened. I’ve always been the creative type of individual. I then took that idea & began to bring awareness to brokenness in women without them no longer hiding it. I saw the negative stigma brokenness was getting. So I wanted to create faith/inspiring based t-shirts to serve as a constant reminder and message so that women can began to find to beauty in any area of brokenness in her life. I knew this idea would work because I understood how important we as women not only need encouragement, but reminders as well. The unique approach I was providing was telling my personal story of brokenness while also being relatable at the same time.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I was born in Las Vegas, NV, but was raised in Lake Providence, Louisiana for majority of the beginning of my life. I have 3 beautiful children. Two girls and one boy. They are definitely a big part of my journey as well. I got into creating custom t-shirts by using my creative mind I’ve had since I was a little girl. I understood how clothing especially t-shirts was a piece of clothing everyone wore. Also, being able to create faith/inspirational messages for t-shirts for women that have experienced any form of brokenness was dear to my heart. What sets us apart from others is that we are bringing awareness and providing ways to overcome brokenness in women that have been overlooked & buried for a very long time. I am proud to know that our brand will allow women to unashamedly began to walk in the beauty of any brokenness in her life. We want our fans, potential customers, followers & many women of brokenness know that our brand is a place where ANY form of brokenness is welcome, not judged and we will provide ways to overcome along with showing you that there is beauty in brokenness.
How did you build your audience on social media?
The way we built our audience on social media honestly may seem simple, but it is vital. That way is storytelling. We were and are willing to share my personal story to other women. The purpose of this is to show that my story can be relatable in many ways to many others. In the beginning it seemed hard to do, but once I got over the fear of sharing my stories it became easy. Especially knowing my story is true, relatable and can definitely help someone else.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
There were many instances where the business wasn’t getting any sales etc. Truthfully that can be disappointing and difficult to deal with, but the “Why” is definitely what pushed me to continue even when there wasn’t sales. I understood that what I had to offer was something that can change many women lives. Knowing that and seeing what type of beauty it can bring kept me in the race for other women to overcome brokenness and find the beauty in it. The scripture that always came to mind when I got tired or disappointed was Galatians 6:9 and it says “Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not lose heart.”
