We recently connected with Stephanie Ashby and have shared our conversation below.
Stephanie, appreciate you joining us today. Do you have a hero? What have you learned from them?
my hero is my mother, she has been my biggest supporter behind all my modeling. Since I was younger, I would always pretend I was in a runway show showing off the new clothes she had bought me. My mum was always the one that pushed me when I was at my lowest in life.
She always told me I was destined to model and here I am today doing what I have always wanted to do. I want to be able to give her everything she deserves since she sacrificed so much to ensure me and my siblings have everything growing up.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I know for years, back in my high school days, I have always wanted to become a model but due to the lack of knowledge and connections, it made it very difficult for me to step foot into the modeling industry.
I have been taking photos just to post on instagram for about 3 years and then I started taking modeling seriously for 1 year. I had photographers, MUA’s, and designers reach out to me on instagram and wanting to collaborate. I am very grateful for all the experience i have had this year, I feel like my growth has been growing very fast. I am very grateful for all the people who was part of my growth and supported me through it all.
What sets me apart from others, I am very versatile with my looks, I love to look different and always try to stand out whether I am modeling or not modeling.
I am very proud of the growth and who I am as I person. I have walked for 7 fashion shows this year alone and very excited to walk more.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to be signed in either Los Angeles, New York, or London. I have been building up my portfolio and gaining as much experience as possible!
How did you build your audience on social media?
Building an audience on social media can be difficult, but what is currently helping me is standing out and coming up with creative concept photoshoots and collaborating with other creatives/models.
