We were lucky to catch up with Stephani Lamoni recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephani , thanks for joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?

3 things – Consistency, Hard Work + Dedication.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is Stephani Lamoni & I created Pop up & Shop up back in 2019. Our goal has always been to create a platform for small businesses to gain exposure + generate sales.

Its been a bumpy ride these past 3 years especially having to completely shut down all of our events in 2020 when Covid began. However, once we had the green light to get things going again we’ve been moving at the speed of lightning lol. We recently opened up a store front location where brands now have the opportunity to feature their products on a weekly/monthly basis without having to be physically present. It’s just another option for them the get their brands out there.

Our marketplace events feature all types of businesses including women’s boutique, jewelry, hair care, skin care, candles, etc. We really have some amazing vendors who work with us! You can really tell how much love & passion they have for their crafts by simply looking at their displays.

Im very proud of how far Pop up & Shop up has gotten in these short 3 years. We will continue to work daily on creating the best experience for our vendors/clients. Seeing them reach their goals as small businesses is extremely rewarding!

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

Very simple- I applied for a credit card with a credit limit of $1,000, got approved & i used all of it to start Pop up & Shop up. I used $999 to be exact.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

Once Covid began in 2020 we were not able to do any in-person events. So, just like most of the world we had to start thinking of creative ways to keep our business going. Everything was then done virtually & lots of social media action such as lives & giveaways.
