We recently connected with Stephan Stephens and have shared our conversation below.
Stephan, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
My Name is Stephan Stephens, and I am the Owner. and President of Mother’s Pride Moving & Packing, LLC. We are a growing moving company based in Orlando, servicing Central Florida and surrounding areas. I had my first moving job during the summer break of 1998 before leaving for college on a basketball scholarship to Florida College, and then transferring to Shaw University. I feel in love with the passion of helping people in their time of need and bringing a smile to their faces, keeping physically fit, and the caveat was the opportunity for success was limitless.
In 2001, I welcomed by beautiful baby girl Rhyan Imari into the world and at that very moment I knew that she was my biggest inspiration. Over the next 18 years, I worked for numerous high -end moving and furniture companies perfecting my craft to be the absolute best mover I could be because, being the best father was my number one priority.
I am the only son of four siblings, to a single mother who is my heartbeat. All of my life my dear Mother Elaine Andino called me her pride and joy. She always instilled in us very strong core values; Honesty, Transparency ,and Hard-work. Entrepreneurship has always been a huge goal I wanted to achieve. Once my princess graduated high school in 2019, I left my employer and birthed my third baby. Mother’s Pride Moving & Packing LLC., because I’m my Mother’s Pride.

Stephan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Since 2019, Mother’s Pride Moving & Packing LLC has established a reputation as a premier red carpet-white glove residential, and commercial moving company in the state of Florida. We offer a grade A moving and packing service to residential, commercial, and specializing in Assistant living facilities. We take the burden away from our clients and also offer labor services to assist in all moving aspects of their transition from one place to another. Mother’s Pride Moving & Packing LLC is more than your average cookie cutter moving company. We pride ourselves on giving back to the community by providing for the less fortunate and hosting several events throughout the year through our sister company Kicks In The City Sneaker Spa LLC. Our long-term goal is not only to provide exceptional moving services, but to also be a beacon of light in the community. Mother’s Pride Moving & Packing is not your ordinary moving company, the foundation of our company is based on honesty, transparency, and delivering smiles one move at a time!
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
In January 2021, I was involved in a major car accident that changed the fabric of my life. I was badly injured which cause 3 concussion to my brain. After months of physical and neurological therapy, the doctors told me my body will operate as a 70 year old man, and would also take 1-5 years for my memory and other neurological activities to possibly become normal.
It was in this down time I suffered depression but also knew it was time to refocus and rebrand my company because this was my new normal with limited brain power. Over the course of months I struggled to get up out of bed, had no drive, and had to figure life out.
With the support of my family and close friends I fought back slowly to regain strength and gain my drive back.
At that moment enough was enough, I made a conscious decisions to wake up and fight everyday because my kids were counting on me, and I would never disappoint them.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My big sister Tiffiney Williams is my best friend and second mother. Growing up we were two peas in a pod and inseparable. She was my listening ear good, bad, or indifferent she was by my-side and vice versa. We made a promise to each other ‘ Forever and Always”.
On October 1, 2021, My best friend took her last breath. She lost her battle to gallbladder cancer at the young age of 46. I was ready to throw the towel in and be done with life. How could I live without my baby, my support system, and a huge piece of my heart? Another huge time in my life when I lost all hope in life. If it wasn’t for my family that stuck together in our time of grief, I don’t know where I would be.
In this moment I knew I had to continue to keep her legacy alive and in addition to my mother, my two baby sisters Davida Miller- Morris and LaToya Cuyler and my kids, Tiffiney was another huge reason to go harder to make Mother’s Pride Moving & Packing LLC the Best Moving Company in the world.
