We were lucky to catch up with Stella Nicole recently and have shared our conversation below.
Stella, appreciate you joining us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
For me I always knew I wanted to be in music/a creative. I think the biggest part of why I didn’t start earlier was myself. I felt like I had to be at a certain level to start creating music or performing, when it’s actually quite backwards from that. I started music and recording music near the end of my college career but started writing much sooner than that probably around middle school. I would have started earlier and just reached out to people to collaborate with rather than do it all myself.
I would have done more things with collaborators in my field. Just went for it and not let myself stand in the way.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I’m a singer songwriter, I also produce all of my music. I’m very proud of where I have come from to where the music I’m creating now is. I focus in a country – pop genre. I add a lot of pop elements to my music, but have instruments that lean more country sounding, like banjo mandolin, etc.
I’ve worked with all different kind of folks from rock albums to audio-books. Right now, I am an in-house AV Technician for a large Entertainment company. This experience has helped me get to know the local music scene in Nashville and really just craft my love for recording and audio.
I started writing music as long as I remember, wether it be little songs I sung as a child to now fully produced songs that are on the radio. I am most proud of the fact I do a lot of the work on my songs myself. It was such a challenge to learn how to record and what sounds good, now I’m just crafting what sounds better and better!

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
Soundbetter.com! It is a website backed by Spotify and musicians can post what they do and can be hired for any project. This just connects you with professionals that you would have no other way of connecting.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
I think going out and supporting local artists and going to concerts really does help. Buying merchandise and just supporting more independent artists. Of course you should support artists you like no matter the following they have but in today’s society, when you support local smaller artists it really helps them boost their career!
