We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Stefs RockShow. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Stefs below.
Hi Stefs, thanks for joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I went to college at University of the Pacific and studied Communication. I was really busy on the Dance Team and in a Sorority, I heard radio was an easy “A”. I’m also the class clown, and love music. I started my own radio show in college and it took off. From there I started my own YouTube channel “Stefs Rock Show” I interview rockstars, go backstage, now I even interview reality star. It’s all so fun

Stefs, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
After college, I moved down to Santa Monica with my best friend Scott. I interned at Playboy Radio. Learned a lot, and made several connections in LA, and kept doing my own youtube show as well. I moved to Hollywood to report on the sunset strip after a year in Santa Monica. I was at the Rainbow Bar and Grill often and even got to host the Miss Rainbow contest. I have always been on time, professional, with very witty, unique questions and public relations firms have caught on. I ma now blessed to have my own podcast, Stefs Rock Show. I am booked months out with bands such as system of a Down, Weird Al, Chevelle, Alien Ant Farm, Drowning Pool and many more.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I just never got discouraged. Sometimes you dont land the interview you ask for, sometime there are trolls and bullys online, ignore them. If youre having a blast doing what you love and the talents loves your show, youre doing it right. Sometimes you wont see the “big jump” or “take off” right away, be patient and you might climb gently. I have been in the radio business and now podcasting for twenty years, we are all so connected and look out for one another.

Have you ever had to pivot?
I had to walk away from my morning position at Rock 96.7 when I got married and we family planned. Becoming a mother my priorities shifted. I stayed home to raise my two sons, Bowie and Hendrix. They are now both in school full time so I was able to get back into what I love- rock journalism. I started Stefs Rock Show back up, as a podcast. It’s been exploding and so excited to jump back into this rock world head first.
