Stefanie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about the best advice you’ve ever given to a client? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
Here is a simple but powerful piece of advice… start to pay attention to your thoughts! All of the emotions we hold, and the following actions we take, begin with one thought. Our thoughts drive our present circumstances. We are creatures of habit and most of us have a specific pattern of thinking. The way we think, and process our feelings and emotions, is heavily impacted by our life experiences. Our past experiences made us who we are today. They have shaped the way we think about ourselves and the world. Although we do not have control over our past, we have some control in the present moment. We can shape our future by making positive changes now. Positive changes lead to positive results.
Thinking about our thinking is a powerful thing! When you really begin to slow down, think about your thoughts, and pay attention to your inner dialogue, you gain huge insights into how your energy is flowing. Do you tend to replay past grievances? Do you frequently anticipate worst-case scenarios? Do you speak to yourself in a kind or an unkind way? If you put in the effort, you may begin to notice a pattern of thinking. Try to become an unbiased observer. Pinpoint which thoughts make you feel good and which thoughts make you feel anxious or discouraged. Then, jot them down. Now go through the list and write down an opposing positive thought for each negative one. Moving forward, when you start to notice you are thinking a negative thought, pause, take a breath, and replace that negative thought with a more positive one!

Stefanie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a speech-language pathologist, Reiki Master Teacher, a best-selling author, ordained minister, Akashic Records reader, and EFT practitioner. I became a pediatric speech-language pathologist in 2008, after receiving a Master’s degree in Communication Disorders from Mercy College in New York. In addition to helping others find their voice, I set out on my own journey of healing and self-discovery in 2011, when I became a Reiki practitioner.
Reiki, a Japanese energy healing technique that promotes stress reduction and relaxation, helped me overcome a long-term eating and anxiety disorder. After focusing on self-care and self-growth, I began helping others do the same. I officially opened my business, Live and Breathe Reiki LLC, in 2021 after creating an ever-growing Instagram page in 2020. Since then, I have made it my mission to help people connect with their authentic selves and experience mind-body-spirit balance.
I have been fortunate to share my spiritual gifts, and the power of Reiki, with clients all over the world. I currently provide in-person and distance Reiki sessions to those who want to relieve stress and anxiety, improve sleeping habits, speed up healing, activate their own spiritual abilities, increase confidence and motivation, and improve their overall well-being. In addition to holding Reiki sessions and certification classes, I have created an affirmation card deck (Mind Body Spirit Affirmation Cards- a 44-card deck) and offer oracle/tarot readings, akashic record readings, and a variety of Reiki-infused items in my Etsy shop (Live and Breathe Reiki).
There are so many things that I am proud of, but I am most proud of finishing my debut book, Your Sacred Journey: The Ultimate Guidebook to Align Your Mind, Body, & Spirit. Within 24 hours of posting the pre-order link in March 2023, it became a #1 best-seller!
My intention was to put out a book that would empower people to raise their energetic vibration and find their inner strength so that they can live their best life. No matter where you are in your spiritual journey, this easy-to-read guidebook will provide you with spiritual tips that aid in self-healing and self-discovery. It is the book I wish I had when I started out on my own path to wellness. It contains information, exercises, and guided meditations that help you connect with your shadow self, heal your ancestral lineage, balance your chakras and aura, ground and shield yourself from negativity, raise your vibration, manifest your desires, enhance your psychic abilities, and notice/interpret signs from your guides and angels. It is the perfect starting point for those who wish to connect with their authentic selves, embrace their spiritual gifts, and improve overall wellness.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
In 2020, the emergence of COVID-19 changed the way I had to do business. Quarantine regulations forced me to pause all in-person Reiki sessions and left me with questions about how I would continue offering Reiki to others. However, the beauty of Reiki is that it is an energy based healing modality. Everything is energy and energy is everything. Energy is not bound by space, distance, or time. Because of that, I saw an opportunity to pivot and focus my efforts on distance/remote healings. I began promoting and offering distance Reiki sessions on my Instagram page (@live.and.breathe.reiki).
As my reach grew, my clientele grew, allowing me the opportunity to help a larger number of people all around the world! Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I could connect with and impact beautiful souls all over the world. When the world turned upside-down in 2020, it also showed me that I could do just that.
Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Resilience, effort, and flexibility are the keys to experiencing success in your field. Once you really understand that you will fall, make mistakes, and fail again (and again!), you will begin to learn that the most important thing is that you pick yourself back up, dust yourself off, and try again! That is how you show resilience. When you decide what success is to you, make a concerted effort to follow-through with your goals. Take baby steps if things seem overwhelming. Growth is growth, no matter how slow or how small. Lastly, be flexible. Things may not always work out the way you want them to, so be prepared to pivot and do things differently. Be open to growth. Growth is beautiful and life-changing!
