We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Stefanie Kling. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Stefanie below.
Alright, Stefanie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear the story behind how you got your first job in field that you currently practice in.
People often ask me how I got into a topic like face reading. And I have to admit that I wasn’t specifically searching for it. I didn’t even know there was such a thing as reading in people’s faces. Indeed, I knew about profiling, interpreting facial expressions and body language, but I didn’t realise that every facial feature is an expression of your personality and inherent abilities. I’m actually a creative and have worked in the fields of fashion, design and brand experience. Looking back, I can now see the connections to the work as a creative and the work I do today as a face reader. As it’s all about expressing ourselves, bringing the imaginable come to live in an authentic way and evoking emotions of wonder and aliveness in others.
So one day I stumbled upon face reading by chance while I was searching for something that could help me find out who I really am and how I can express myself to the fullest. And what adds to that: I have always had an intrinsic interest in people. Why they are the way they are, why they dress or express in a certain way, why they act or speak in a particular manner.
It so happened that a face reading course was taking place in my city shortly after and that’s how it all began. And to be frank, at this point in time I hadn’t even thought about becoming a professional face reader. But after more and more friends started approaching me to read their faces and I saw all these „aha moments“ in their expression, I started out with my professional offer.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name ist Stefanie and I read in faces.
You might wonder: What exactly is face reading? As the name suggests, it is reading in a person’s face like in a book. This includes facial expressions and gestures, but even more importantly the physiognomy, i.e. features such as eyes, mouth, chin, nose, etc. as well as lines, wrinkles and marks. In their shape and distinctiveness, they give us valuable clues about a person’s characteristics and talents. They act like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle which, when combined, reveal the overall picture of your individual personality. The face is like a language of its own.
So what I specifically do is reading in this book and mirroring the information back to you. In a reading session (online or in person), I point out your potentials, abilities and talents, but also your contradictions and challenges as well as possible solutions. In the Chinese face reading tradition you can even read a person’s life purpose based on their personality, talents and individual life sentences. But also love, relationship, health and nutrition are topics your face tell about you. The overall aim is to guide you into living your life in alignment with your authentic self.
For me, a holistic approach is incredibly important. That’s why I’ve also completed some training in meditation, energy work, numerology and yoga so that I can support and advise people on an even deeper level.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I don’t know if you can call it unlearning, but face reading repeatedly reminds me of how unique we all are and that you can’t draw conclusions about others from yourself. Sometimes you might have been in the same situation or made the same experiences but how you cope with it in a beneficial way can be totally different according to your personality and potentials. And indeed, there are great tools and strategies for personal development of any kind. But what I see in my work day by day is: “one size fits all” simply does not exist. For me, that’s what makes this profession so incredibly exciting.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
After I set up my face reading business and of course wanted to read more people than just my friends and peers, the most difficult thing was to get the word out. Most people have no idea what face reading is and what kind of information you receive in a reading. So the first step was to create awareness and introduce the topic to a broader audience, i.e. through social media or live events.
The great part is though that as soon as people hear about face reading they get very curious. After all, we all have a face and thus can all relate to that. But of course, a reading is most beneficial when you are at a crossroad or have the feeling that there is more to life that what you express at the moment.
For me personally, word of mouth creates the greatest foundation of trust when it comes to acquiring new customers.
