We recently connected with Stefanie Juon and have shared our conversation below.
Stefanie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
My passion for entrepreneurship started when I was in my late teens. In addition to taking holistic health courses and beginning to formulate my own skincare products, I attended yoga teacher training. Along with health and wellness articles, I was publishing literary projects, including a young adult science fiction poetry book, “The Tales of Balmoral: Part 1, The Lost Soul, for which fans are still anxiously awaiting the rest of this series!
Combining all my favorite alternative therapies, I began to look for spaces that I could rent whether it was a room or office etc. and I started a few LLC’s for indoor/outdoor yoga, holistic health services, classes, workshops, etc. while I worked full-time at hospitals. Whether I was teaching at a facility or leading an outdoor yoga session through one of my LLCs, I was able to cross-pollinate my skincare products and holistic health care services while I was teaching yoga.
I would also approach wellness centers and/or prenatal clothes shops, etc., and suggest that they hire me as their yoga instructor when they did not offer yoga… yet! This enabled me to gain experience and figure things out, so to speak.
Being an entrepreneur and loving so many different aspects of my field made it extremely difficult for me. I accomplished a lot by obtaining certificates, and as I was heading toward my doctorate, it was difficult to choose a main focus, which is still challenging for me to this day as the natural health field is endless! I never really had the resources to dive in full-time as a young entrepreneur, but I do feel that after all that’s happened to me in my personal life and the pathways I’ve taken, it’s brought me right to where I’m supposed to be..

Stefanie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hi, I’m Stefanie Juon, Board Certified Naturopathic Doctor, Holistic Health Practitioner, and experienced Yoga Teacher.
I have created a virtual Health, Fitness & Skincare Hub to aid you on your wellness journey!
I believe everyone should have access to complementary and alternative therapies. In today’s age, our insurance mostly covers disease care, and nothing that actually promotes health and well-being. My goal is to grow this hub with like-minded professionals.
I am working hard to provide you with the education, tools, and resources to help you live a happy and vibrant life – Body Mind and Spirit.
I work with clients to restore balance in the following areas:
The Gut Microbiome—The collection of beneficial microbes in the gut that protects us against germs, breaks down food to release energy, and produce vitamins. We also typically have small amounts of opportunistic microbes, which can overgrow causing harm to the microbiome.
The Psychobiome—Microbes that influence the nervous system and affect how people think, feel and act.
The Skin Microbiome—The bacteria, fungi, and viruses that make up skin flora, or skin microbiota, help your immune system function, heal wounds, and regulate inflammation.
It’s about getting back to the basics or the fundamentals and building the foundation for a happy, healthy, and vibrant life!
In collaboration with you, it is my responsibility to get to the root cause, find a solution, reach the goal, and follow through. In other words I’m here to help you optimize your health.
You can restore your microbiome and enhance your nutritional status by following the procedures of removal, replacement, and reinoculation within the gut.
Discover the root cause of what ails you by first looking at how sturdy your foundation is, and how well your Microbiome is functioning.
Nutrient deficiencies, systemic inflammation, impaired digestion: gas, burping, acid reflux/Gerd, constipation or loose stools, dysbiosis: an imbalance of the key players within the microbiome affecting your entire body and its systems, leaky gut, chronic bacterial, viral, and/or fungal infections, absorption issues, foods sensitivities, chronic allergies, overload of toxins affecting your body and brain, thyroid dysfunction, hormone imbalances, adrenal fatigue, immune function are ALL connected to the health of your microbiome!
Having worked in both the medical and naturopathic fields for more than a decade I find that the missing link in health care is the coaching aspect, the information, guidance, and options to improve overall health. With health coaching, you can prevent or manage conditions with lifestyle modifications by offering support and guidance.
The medical industry has a wide range of expertise. When you visit a doctor for an illness or condition, they will treat you for it, whether it be with medication, surgery, or another procedure, and it’s likely that the issue has been present for some time and did not immediately appear.
Being an advocate for safe routine screenings, preventative treatment, and lifestyle changes is crucial for you and your families. Health and wellness go well beyond the doctor’s office! Being proactive and setting goals is the key to bringing about positive change.
As a holistic health consultant, my objective is to provide as much education as I can, with a focus on proactive and preventative health and well-being.
Choose from two ways to work with me – Consultation Options:
1. Become a client—- Initial consultation: Includes 60-minute assessment and evaluation, recommendations, a personalized plan of broad, big picture goals, which serves as the basic structure of our work together, and any applicable handouts. 10% discount on professional grade supplements.

While all yoga is therapeutic and healing, specialized yoga involves the specific application of yogic tools—postures/exercises, breath work, meditation techniques, and more—to address an individual’s physical, mental, and emotional needs. Specialized yoga can help people who can’t move at all, as well as active individuals. A session, whether one-to-one or in a small group, is tailored to the individual and addresses your specific goals while considering any limitations you might be experiencing.
Teaching has been Stefanie Juon’s profession for sixteen years, and she has been a student of the practice for eighteen. She gives her students fresh and innovative classes after having immersed herself in a variety of teaching styles and techniques over the years. She is passionate about guiding her students to reclaim their sense of self in each posture, bringing about real transformation in their bodies, minds, and spirits.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
After several weeks following open heart surgery, I started getting antsy. I didn’t know what I wanted to do with myself heading back into work full-time, but I did know I wanted to teach yoga again and get strong asap. One day, I hopped in the car and drove to a health and wellness center that I wanted to work at. I went up to the front desk, asked for the manager, and said, “Would you be interested in hiring me as a yoga instructor for this facility?” And went about my spele about how I’m the only one for the job that hasn’t been created yet. Within a couple weeks, I had a full-time gig.
The example of resilience in this story is when I went for the demo class at another established location; everything was going great. I had a full class, and the conductor of the interview was also the individual who normally taught the class. There was one student who was particularly unhappy about this, and I went to do some sort of yoga pose crunch thing, and she went, “Ooooohhhh” when I failed to execute my move. I didn’t have the abdominal strength. She essentially booed me off the stage, and I turned it into a joke and said, “Well, I guess I didn’t have my Wheaties today, huh?” Not that I eat Wheaties, mind you. Little did this woman know that I had just gotten out of open-heart surgery less than two months prior, and I thought that I was ready and wanted to push myself to the next level. Well, that’s entrepreneurship, isn’t it? Only positive thoughts toward her because it helped me see… yeah kid… You’ve got work to do, and you’re going to do it until you make it. And I did! I welcomed packed classes of 30+ for years to come.

Okay – so how did you figure out the manufacturing part? Did you have prior experience?
I do manufacture my own products and they have certainly evolved over the years from simple DIY lotions, salves, and packing to a more sophisticated cold pressed method with professional labeling.
After buying skincare products off the shelves over the years I became concerned and unhappy with the results promised. Research led me to the conclusion that the containers had a lot to do with the poor quality. And then I began to wonder “how long has this product been sitting on the shelf? When was it made?”
Through my studies and passion for the skin microbiota, I decided to make a difference and created a microbiome friendly skincare line with the proper containers to keep ingredients safe and to give the results promised.
I created the hydro-line with antioxidants because no matter what skin type we have—dry, oily, combination, or normal—we all need hydration, and we all want anti-aging benefits automatically built into our skincare. Every single day, 365 days a year, our bodies need water and nutrients, especially those rich in antioxidants, to keep our cells happy, healthy, and regenerating. Our skin, the body’s largest organ, needs to maintain healthy levels of flora, pH, sebum, melanin, and hydration all while shedding nearly a million skin cells daily.
Each skincare product from the Hydro-Line is designed with specialized formulations to help correct an array of problematic issues as well as balance the microbiome to promote healthy and radiant skin.
By using the cold method in formulating our products from the H20 line, the ingredients remain fresh and highly potent, as intended to give you fast-acting results, versus being heated or chemically treated, which can denature the product. Our products are naturally preserved with honey suckle flower extract, radish root ferment, lactobacillus, and coconut fruit extract.
Our oil-based products are never heated past temperatures that will denature or diminish their beneficial qualities. Pure, natural, powerful, and what I call “performance” ingredients deliver for brighter, clearer, and softer skin.
ABOUT THE CONTAINERS
The Hydro-Line (H20 products) use the latest technology with airless bottles and jars to keep your product free of bacteria and to prevent any exposure to air or light. This is imperative for getting the results you want for your skin. Antioxidants and vitamins can spoil quickly if not properly formulated or if they are exposed to light or air. Oil-based products, such as the oil cleanser, body balm, and lip balm and cream, hold their strength and quality even when exposed to air during use.
VARIATION IN COLOR OR CLARITY
It’s very possible for the same Hydro-Line products to have a different color, clarity, or even consistency from one batch to the next. But this is no cause for alarm—variation in color, clarity, and even consistency are standard whenever you use natural ingredients, especially those containing botanical extracts and natural preservatives. It in no way affects the integrity or quality of the product. On the contrary, any variations come from the natural botanical extracts included in the formulation, which can vary from season to season and harvest to harvest.
