Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Stefanie Easley. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Stefanie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
The foundation was founded in loving memory of my sister Erica Easley who lost her life due to distracted driving. The loss of my only sister gave me a purpose to help others become more aware of the dangers of distracted driving. It was important to me to turn this tragic experience into something positive, my sister cannot lose her life and it be for nothing. The Erica Easley Foundation works to educate and prevent the number of drivers that drive distracted as well as impowering passengers to speak up if they are in a vehicle where distracted driving is occurring. We believe everyone young and old play a part in safe driving.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
We want to ensure our young drivers are being safe behind the wheel. Educating teens about the risks associated with distractions, alcohol and drug use is very important. Our mobile learning unit will provide teens a hands-on learning experience. Our program provides several different experiences to give a safe yet impactful experience of how dangerous distraction driving is.
Our goal is to work with schools and community organizations to help spread awareness.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
As a non-profit organization it’s a challenge to raise funds for your organization to be able to grow. Over the past 2 years I’ve been socializing to gain financial support. We were fortunate enough to receive a grant during our first year, this grant gave us the opportunity to purchase all of the needed equipment and supplies for our mobile unit. Prior to this grant I was working with local businesses as well as law enforcement to use their resources to help get our program off the ground.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
As a new business it is important to align yourself with like businesses and organizations that share the same passion as you do and support one another. I’ve gain most of our followers by consistently posting information and tips that can be shared with various audiences. The more you post relevant and impactful information your chances of increasing your audience grows.
