We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Stefanie Block a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Stefanie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I wanted permanent jewelry myself, but found that I could not find a place near me. I started to do research on the process and thought to myself “I can do this myself” as a way to put jewelry on myself as well. It grew to be a creative outlet for me. At first, I was just playing around with friends and family. As they showed off their jewelry, their friends wanted bracelets and I found myself spending my evenings investing time and energy on technique and sourcing materials and charms. I decided that I was going to invest in this and built a website and found businesses to collaborate with for pop ups. My biggest goal was to offer a fun experience whether that was in a boutique, at a private party, or festival- and really focus on the experience of getting the jewelry because it is an investment.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
That’s on You is a Atlanta Georgia based jewelry business that specializes in the newest trend in jewelry, which is permanent or clasp-less pieces. Offering a variety of gold and gold filled chains that can be bracelets, anklets or necklaces in a variety of styles of chains that are all custom fit for the client. I come from a entrepreneur family, my step Dad who had a really integral part of raising me, was an business owner so I saw first hand the highs and lows of entrepreneurship. I personally work full time remote for a financial technology company, so Thats on You gives me not only a creative outlet, but also a social outlet as well.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
My current clients referring new clients to me is the best source of new clients! I get lots of messages on Instagram or emails from people telling me they saw someone with a piece of jewelry I did for a friend of theirs and they want to book an appointment. There is no greater compliment than that!
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I love to take pictures and share them with them after their appointment, and also post them on social media after. This generally gives us a way to stay in touch. I also am very transparent with my clients that if they have an issue that they can reach out and we will adjust sizing or make their jewelry a better fit, if needed. Social media, is an easy natural way to stay connected.
