We were lucky to catch up with Stefanie Adler recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Stefanie, thanks for joining us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
Looking back I think the defining moment was when I decided to niche down on supporting women through gut health and hormones. Before that time I was doing general nutrition consulting, and workiing with everyone! Men, women, people looking to reverse autoimmune disease, but I was feeling so called to support women, with their cycles and in getting pregnant. I think a lot of that was rooted in my own experience. There was a time where I struggled with hormonal acne for almost 2 years before learning how to heal my body. I remember the tears, + frustration I felt when my IBS limited how I wanted to live my life, left me in pain + embarrassed. I knew how it felt to be confused about hormones + to feel like I’d never figure out what’s wrong with me. I knew what it was like to feel anxious, ungrounded + be reach for solutions left + right and have none of them work. I knew how it felt to so badly want balance with my food, weight, period + overall life but feel like it’s out of reach. And I wanted to be the guide and witness to other women in that journey helping them overcome all of the above and more! SO I niched down and the rest was history!
Stefanie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Stefanie Adler, and I am a Holistic Nutritionist, Female Hormone + Fertility Expert and Birth Doula. I help women trust their bodies and believe that every woman deserves to live the authentic, fulfilling life she desires.
I got into this industry after returning from living abroad for 5 years, and realized how disconnected my peers in the United States were from how their food impacted their health. I had experienced my own wellness jounneu, learning how food could be medicine during my teenage years when I dealt with serious health issues of my own. I changed my diet, hoping that it would solve the digestive problems I had been struggling with for most of my life. Despite my doctors doubting it would work, within a few months of implementing the new changes, most of the pain and digestive discomfort I struggled with for more than a decade disappeared. Over the years, I learned more about my body’s unique nutritional needs and how stress affected my physical state. After getting an undergraduate degree in conflict resolution, I decided to go back to school for a degree in Nutritional Consulting from Bauman College to support others on their healing journeys. Now I work with women worldwide from all walks of life, providing education and guidance on living a holistically healthy balanced life! II’m most proud of how I’ve helped over 40 women get pregnant and have beautiful healthy babies, many of whom had been told it likely would not be possible for them. In addition I’ve supported hundreds of women in getting in touch with their cycles, having pain less and pms-less periods, and learn to fall in love with their womanhood.
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
100% it’s been wildly rewarding. I love knowing how many babies and mama’s were born as a result of our work together and the potential of how the world will look because of that is so exciting to me!
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Going above and beyond for clients, treating them like people, not patients and always validating their experience.
