We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Stefan Munoz. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Stefan below.
Hi Stefan, thanks for joining us today. The first dollar your firm earns is always special. We’d love to hear about how you got your first client that wasn’t a friend or family.
I still remember talking to my first bride about shooting her wedding. She had a very small budget and I was just happy to talk to her, I practically threw the whole kitchen sink at her. I had only been an assistant shooter up to that point and I was so eager to start shooting my own weddings. The day of their wedding went about as well as it could have. I learned a ton about what worked for me and what didn’t but going through the whole process helped establish my style of photography.
Stefan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hi there! I’m Stefan, a wedding and portrait photographer based in Houston, TX. I’ve been capturing special moments through my lens for the past 9 years, and I can’t imagine doing anything else.
Photography has always been my passion, but it wasn’t until I started shooting weddings and portraits that I truly found my calling. There’s something incredibly special about being able to document life’s most important moments – the laughter, the tears, the joy, and the love.
As a Houston-based photographer, I’m incredibly lucky to have access to some of the most beautiful locations in the city. From the lush greenery of Hermann Park to the iconic skyline views from Buffalo Bayou, there’s no shortage of stunning backdrops to choose from.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I have a fun and calming vibe about myself. On a wedding day, this is everything for the bride and groom. My couples appreciate more than the work I deliver, how I made them feel on the day of their wedding.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Word of mouth is still one of the best strategies for growing my client base. A wedding with a happy bride and groom can easily turn into another chain of weddings, a family session, a newborn session, etc.
