We recently connected with Stef Salcedo and have shared our conversation below.
Stef, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Having faith in God first. Also being disciplined and consistent is what it takes to be successful. Having a vision, having hunger to accomplish what you want the world to see. I believe in hardwork, pushing everyday despite the million excuses you can have.

Stef, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi, I’m Stef Salcedo. Daughter of God, devoted mother, wife, cook, and business owner. I have been running Jewels of a Gem since 2021, it all started with simply fixing a bracelet and realizing how much I really enjoyed what I had been able to create.
I design handmade jewelry that go in hand with my faith and belief in my new journey that I have started for myself. I make custom bracelets, necklaces, rings, and other accessories I have added thru the years.
I believe OG Jewels is unique because of the way I pour myself into all that I do with my business. I truly believe that everything made in love is always beautiful. It has been such an accomplishment for me to be able to learn and grow through my business being able to maintain all areas and details that it take to run a small business. From the marketing, the shipping, packaging, all labels, all stickers, social media is ran by me!
Jewels of a Gem has been through some changes and it’s only going to get better from here!

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
This one is my favorite question and it truly does allow me to speak on my testimony of recent changes in my life. 2021 I started this business with a completely different name (Ojos de Gitana) which changed in 2023 right before I was baptized Dec 3rd. It was a strong conviction for me because prior to changing my name I also had to change all of my designs and products that I used to sell which were mostly evil eye bracelets to now jewelry that goes hand in hand with my faith.
I had to clear out and start all over but sometimes that is ok especially when you have trust in God first believing he will provide. At first it was extremely hard to come out with the announcement of change but its faith over fear for me and I wanted everyone to know it’s important to stand for what you believe in no matter what others say.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I have developed friendships with almost every customer I have sold jewelry too. I take it a step further to actually wanted to converse and get to know my customers especially since I would create so many pieces for them. Special occasions, some good, some sad, and I really wanted them to know I care, I heard them, I was there for them. It wasn’t about just making money or a sale, it was about really hearing exactly what my customer needed. I’m so grateful for this and all of the friendships I’ve built.
