We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Stasia Berry. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Stasia below.
Stasia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Setting up an independent practice is a daunting endeavor. Can you talk to us about what it was like for you – what were some of the main steps, challenges, etc.
I started my business in a little room inside of a beauty salon. It wasn’t much, but I was passionate about what I was doing. Even with humble beginnings, I always provided great customer service Giving clients the best experience possible. I really believe that helped grow my clientele to what it is today. Most of my challenges came from being a first generation entrepreneur and learning most everything as I go. I’ve been able to overcome that obstacle by always remaining teachable on this journey.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Stasia and I’m an Esthetician. You can think of me as your skin’s best friend. I have spent majority of my career specializing in full body waxing and intimate skin correction. I have created treatment plans that have helped treat ingrown hairs and even skin tone. FBN also creates natural aftercare products infused with herbs and essential oils that assist with these issues. Over the years I’ve been able to help clients feel better about themselves and more confident about their skin. I’ve been able to educate others on how to properly care for their skin and that’s really been the highlight of my career. I love skincare and it’s been my pleasure to be able to share that love with others.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
Passion. Entrepreneurship is not the most glamorous career choice and if you are not passionate, those hard days can really crush you.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Originally, I became an esthetician because I wanted to be a makeup artist. Once I graduated and started doing makeup, I hated it. It was a hard pill to swallow but I gave it up and looking back I’m so happy I put down the brush for a wax stick.
