Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Stacyann Evans. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Stacyann, thanks for joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
In order for us to become successful there are three things we must practice consistently.
Clear goals
Time management
Self determination
In establishing a clear vision of what you want or where you want to be will give you the direction in which you need to go.
Managing your time effectively will allow you to get more done and within a specific time frame.
After these goals are set and you have managed your time then you need to be intentional about getting it done.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Becoming and author/CEO has not been an easy task. I have gone through multiple instances that would have contributed to me getting to this point. Many setbacks. I have always had a sense of telling a story as soon as I begin to write I would just flow in to words.
I would have gone to a church service and the man of God would have said to me that I have multiple books in me to teach others. That took some years to manifest because there was a lot of fears and delays that would have held me back.
I purpose in my heart that I had to get the story out and so I did.
Presently I run my own typing where I provide transcription services for radiology institutions. I do letters, resumes, projects, audio to text, autobiographies and ghost writing.
I am proud of the fact that I have been able to help those in need through the services I offer and my capability to offer such services.
It is my intention to continue to help as much as possible as I can reach through my authorship telling my story and through my business services.
We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
I have been working as a Receptionist for the past six years. Three years ago a Radiologist approached me offering me a job to transcribe for her for a period of two weeks and I agreed. It would happen that I was typing for her two weeks at a time for her every month.
Then the idea came for me to start my own business transcribing and so I got better equipments and better internet speed. My small business has been steady for over a year now.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I have always stated that I am a multitasker. I was working nine (9) hours during the days then going home to manage three (3) young children this includes doing homework, preparing dinner, preparing them for school the following morning. I was oversleeping, always feeling tired and overwhelmed by my duties. At this point I was pressed, I didn’t know what to do everything seemed to be falling apart.
At this point, my partner stepped in and pointed out what I was doing wrong and so I had to step back from what I knew and learn to manage time better.
