We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Stacy Wren. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Stacy below.
Alright, Stacy thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you have any thoughts about how to create a more inclusive workplace?
My mission at Global Vacation Pro is to be an advocate for the freedom of Travel for all…including Travelers with Mobility Challenges, Special Disabilities, the LGTBQIA + community, and my favorite…Seniors!
Experiencing the freedom of Travel, whether it’s seeing a whale breech in Alaska, snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, taking a Paella cooking class in Barcelona or relaxing on the beaches of the Caribbean should be accessible to all.
It’s this belief that guides the approach of my travel business. I find joy in helping Seniors visit Bucket List Destinations when technology and the logistics of travel can be overwhelming. I’m inspired when I can guide a family with an Autistic Child to an Inclusive Resort, where all members of their family will be welcomed, supported and serviced in the way they need it most. Knowing which Cruise Line may open its arms widely for an LGTBQIA+ traveler who can be embraced on vacation helps foster life changing memories.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Stacy! Owner and Travel Advisor at Global Vacation Pro. In my “former life,” I was a Hospitality Junkie…spending 19 years working on the Las Vegas Strip, across several Mega-Resorts such as The Venetian/Palazzo, Caesars Palace Las Vegas, The Cromwell and Park MGM Las Vegas.
COVID changed everything. I decided to leave my corporate career and focus on the travel industry….finally opening up Global Vacation Pro in 2022.
My main vision is to provide inclusive resources to all who want to experience the freedom of travel, while being a driver of awareness and fundraising in the world community through the vehicle of travel.
My daily mission is to customize travel plans for clients in worldwide destinations via land, sea and air. This includes, research, planning, booking, in-travel support and long term relationship planning with clients. I work in the community to help Non-Profit organizations raise awareness and funds via travel, and provides inclusive support those who need extra services to experience the freedom of travel. Cruise for a Cause is the main program used to drive this initiative.
And more important than my love of Travel is my role as a mom of 4 and wife to my amazing Electrician husband.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
One strategy I’ve used for growing my client base at Global Vacation Pro is focusing on being a subject matter expert in my field as a Travel Advisor. I take my knowledge from the Hospitality Industry seriously, understand how hotels operate including reservations, front desk, groups and events, and food & beverage. This allows me to educate my clients on the best way to travel for them AND for the hotel/tour operator/cruise line, etc, making the experience more enjoyable.
I focus less on “selling,” in my Advertising and Marketing efforts, and more on educating new and current clients with trips, tricks and best practices when traveling.
My energy is poured into Travel Industry and Vendor Relationships worldwide, which means my clients are given top shelf service and care while on their vacation.
The more knowledge I have about the Travel Industry, destinations I book frequently, and ways to improve the customer service experience for my clients, the more vacations they book with me and recommend my services to their friends, family and clients.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
I am my own team of “one” at Global Vacation Pro, and responsible for every aspect of my business, from Advertising, Marketing, New Client Acquisition, Researching and Booking of Travel Worldwide, In-Travel Support and Client Retention (don’t forget Accounting!).
This requires a level of organization and focus to keep all of the parts moving efficiently daily and also driving the business growth forward. At any one time I could be crafting 5 different vacations to 5 different locations while have 25-50ppl traveling around the world, it’s a lot to keep organized!
I schedule time to focus on fostering client and vendor relationships, which is why Travelers love Travel Advisors, for that human connection!
As a result of being a one-woman-band, I’ve had to increase my own self care as time passes. I give myself a chance to rest my brain and sleep, I try to workout to release stress, and journal small and big wins, giving myself the patience to be human!
