We were lucky to catch up with Stacy Kessler recently and have shared our conversation below.
Stacy, appreciate you joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I believe I was born with a creative and artistic nature. From the age of 2 or 3 years old I expressed myself through dance. All I wanted to do was dance and run around the house in a tutu, posing in first second and third positions and attempting pirouettes! My childhood after school memories were watching “Zoom” wishing I was one of those kids on the show every day. It’s funny, but I just recently realized that I experimented in every visual art form by the time I was a teen.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I have had a diverse career but have never been happier since I started pursuing my passion! On the visual art side of things, I’m an art advisor and deal with art sales and collectors. I also work closely with several galleries and venues in Manhattan and Montauk where I have curated several exhibitions. Also, I’m in entertainment and love acting acting in film and television and created a lot of content for commercials.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I love being a creative because it provides me the opportunity to do what I love to do! I’m in the business of art and entertainement and making people feel good. I love being around people who value art as much as I do and I have fun creating my brand — designing handbags and apparel — and it brings me joy when a client is happy. I’m also able to give back to society by donating to charities.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Above all, there is always room to learn and grow and this is what drives me. As an art advisor, I’m developing my skills and expanding my network in the art world by nurturing my relationships with collectors and curators, and dealing with blue chip contemporary art, masters, and emerging artists.
