Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Stacy Gonzalez . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Stacy thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I hope my legacy brings motivation and dedication to people when they hear my name.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hello everybody! For those of you who have no idea who I am…….. My name is Stacy gonzalez. I am a celebrity hair and makeup artist located in Los Angeles California. Throughout my career I’ve come to find that I’m not JUST a makeup artist or hairstylist, I am a trend setter! Working on music videos for over 6 years I feel like anyone involved is a trend setter. We set the vision for the whole world to see.
One of the things I’m most proud of was my ability to keep looking forward and stay disciplined. It all started off with me going to makeup school after dropping out of collage. All my time was dedicated to work and makeup school. Any day I had off from work I would be doing makeup FOR FREE hoping to get my name out. After a while you start to get discouraged but I believed in myself!
Somewhere along these times I met my mentor Nicole Parisi. She took me under her wing and showed me all the rules to the set life. I assisted Nicole for about 3 years until I started to get my own clients and make a career for myself.
Now having my own clients, I am more confident than ever. I think as an entrepreneur one of the hardest stages is the beginning. I see myself flourishing in my path. I am proud to say that I’ve found my career at age 25 years old. I’m looking forward to creating amazing videos with the worlds favorite artists. I do see more for myself and have some things coming shhhh..
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
I think the best thing a makeup artist or hairstylist can do to get new clients is always do your best on the current ones. Word of mouth goes along way, always make your current clients feel beautiful, go to work with high energy and execute the looks !
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn was telling myself I was unable to do “something” or a certain look. I’ve learned that sometimes you have to just do it! These are the same moments I’m amazed at myself. Accomplishing something I thought I couldn’t do.
