We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Stacy Brown a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Stacy thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you scale up? What were the strategies, tactics, meaningful moments, twists/turns, obstacles, mistakes along the way? The world needs to hear more realistic, actionable stories about this critical part of the business building journey. Tell us your scaling up story – bring us along so we can understand what it was like making the decisions you had, implementing the strategies/tactics etc.

Style Luxe Weddings started as a small event decor business that has blossomed into something that I could only dream of. I always knew that I loved bringing visions to life whether that be through Interior design or event design. I loved putting the pieces together and seeing the entire vision come to life! I took a jump and started creating small displays in my living room to showcase what I could offer. At that time I didn’t have any clients or pictures of work that I’ve done. With consistency the business grew! Almost 2 years went by and I quickly learned so much about business. I struggled with pricing my services according to what I was truly worth so I knew it was time to make some adjustments. I’ve also always craved to specialize in Weddings. I loved working with floral and was truly obsessed with wedding decor and designs. Not to mention, logistic coordination was something that I was naturally good at. I decided to take some time to study wedding planning and get hands on experience and totally rebranded into Style Luxe Weddings. It was the best decision that I could have made! I get to help couples plan and decorate one of the biggest days of their lives. Seriously a dream job!

My name is Stacy Brown and I am the owner/lead planner & designer of Style Luxe Weddings. Alright – let’s talk about marketing or sales – do you have any fun stories about a risk you’ve taken or something else exciting on the sales and marketing side?

I made a decision to rebrand from offering event decor into offering strictly wedding services. It was seriously one of the hardest decisions to make. I designed a Styled shoot to showcase the level of wedding decor that I wanted to do and hired a photographer to take my professional pictures. It was such a scary time, I had so many thoughts, “What if I loose followers?, What if I don’t book many weddings?, What if this is a bad decision?”. But something inside me was saying “GO FOR IT”! And that’s what I did. Since that day I haven’t looked back. I absolutely love what I do and working with so many amazing clients!

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

Our most effective strategy for growing clientele has been being consistent and staying true to the brand. Showing up every day to communicate or stay active with our followers on social media. Our overall client experience has also helped us build clientele through word of mouth.
