We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Staci Nelson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Staci, thanks for joining us today. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?

My AH-mazing Husband and BUsiness partner Stephen and I Chose to LEAP into Entrapaneralship at a time of struggle and Hardship. We had wanted children and were unable to conceive, and a ton of other medical issues. I was very passionate about photography and capturing images for people as well as producing events for family and friends that they loved. I did all my friend’s parties and baby showers. I performed all the duties and I absolutely loved it. Stephen was always by my side along the way. As he developed his passion and love for photography and we finally had a family. A regular job with daycare wasn’t fitting, I was working to pay for the daycare. So we moved our side hustle into a full-time business. It took us 11 years to conceive our first child, we were also foster parents at the time so it was like having quads. As I put myself out there with more events. and Stephen took the photograph. We thought why not turn this into a full turnkey event? Our client no longer had to research, but we were able to provide every aspect of completing a full wedding or Birthday party, etc. Our inspiration to thrive became our kids and building something of a success for them. We have learned there is power in networking and communicating with the right people! Referrals from our clients and delivering a Chic fila experience through our catering and events!

I wear many hats as a minister, wife, mother, blogger, and CEO of our business! But, the most amazing part is being able to do it with the love of my life. I absolutely love doing life with him.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

Covid was a MAJOR time we had to pivot! We are a catering and event company. We also did photography. When everything begins to shut down. How would survive, WE came up with other options. Refunding everyone wasn’t an option, but how would we keep revenue coming in?

We started doing porch sessions! We offered to come to clients’ homes and capture family photos, senior sessions, and toilet paper sessions on their porches. We offered to photoshop Santa into the pictures since we could have our regular Santa sessions, We were offering meal prep for families. and allow clients to move their event dates. If they moved their event dates we offered some type of photography to go with it as well.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

The best source for new clients has been networking and referral.. Leaving an impression on our clients to make the come back for our services and also want to tell their friends. We joined the Mettise Group as well and it has been life-changing. They have taught us so much about business and marketing and networking.
