We were lucky to catch up with Staci Leszcz recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Staci, thanks for joining us today. Often outsiders look at a successful business and think it became a success overnight. Even media and especially movies love to gloss over nitty, gritty details that went into that middle phase of your business – after you started but before you got to where you are today. In our experience, overnight success is usually the result of years of hard work laying the foundation for success, but unfortunately, it’s exactly this part of the story that most of the media ignores. Can you talk to us about your scaling up story – what are some of the nitty, gritty details folks should know about?
Who would have thought having my first child would be the best thing that happened for my business. Shortly after having my son in 2017 I knew I needed a strategy to streamline my business.
It all started with with an Instagram ad. We’ve all seen those ads on social media that make us think our phones can read our minds. This specific ad kept popping up-then my my sister sent it to me. So at this point it was just faith. I clicked the link and joined Hairstylist Business Building Bootcamp with Brit Seva. This week long course kicked me into gear and got me excited to further my business. I fell in love with the program and what Brit Seva had to offer that I became a member of a more in depth program called Thrivers Society.
I began implementing this system into my business and instantly knew it was a game changer. I had the resources, the strategy, and the confidence to support my growing business. Don’t get me wrong, I had to put in the work for this system to be successful but with the right guidance it made the process a lot smoother. Every chance I got I was reading, researching and plotting my next business move. Which meant, nap time hustle while baby slept and late nights. The amount of time and effort I put into building my business (now 8 years strong) makes it that much sweeter knowing I earned this.
Staci, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Growing my social media audience. Something I never thought to be a “thing”, when I started my journey as a Professional Hairstylist in 2008. As a women with a strong intuition, I knew social media was something I needed to jump on board with. In 2012 I posted my first hair photo. Now here I am 10 years later, making Instagram reels, creating hair tutorials and updating my clients by posting on Facebook. Staying consistent, being authentic and having a marketing strategy have helped tremendously with building my social media presence. You just have to start somewhere even if you don’t feel confident because that will come with time.
Have you ever had to pivot?
Pivot-the word of 2020. With a National pandemic under our feet we had no choice but to pivot our lifestyle, jobs and businesses. As a hairstylist, our industry was shut down for 3 months that year. In those months, we had to find ways to engage with our clients, help with hair issues via social media and delivered products directly to their door. The pandemic redirected my business and my mind set, thankfully for the better.
