Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Staci Halton. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Staci, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The Alopecian Queen Movement is a faith based community that offers support to women who have been diagnosed (or have experienced hair loss) with Alopecia. Our mission is to educate, bring awareness, support, edify, and encourage women to embrace their journey of alopecia. We do this by hosting weekly meetings (virtually and in-person), prayer, and personal phone calls. Our vision is to make alopecia a household name.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Staci Halton. I founded the Alopecian Queen Movement in March of 2020 during the pandemic. I had gone out in public for the first time without a wig that previous September of 2019. I was diagnosed with alopecia almost 20 years early. I wore weaves, head wraps, and wigs to cover up my bald spots. I had finally gotten tired and began to live my life bold, bald, and free. I wanted to help women who were suffering navigate through the pain of hair loss. That’s how the AQM was founded. Now we help women all over the world!

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the biggest hurdles was something as simple as leaving the house without a wig or my bald head being covered. I would be so worried about being looked at and made to feel uncomfortable because I lost my hair. It’s no longer something I struggle with.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
We currently have 2 officers. Our secretary and our treasurer. I’ve know these women now for about 3 years. We met for the first time in September of 2023. Both women are alopecians and we connected very randomly. It was powerful! I met Angela first. She literally called me she dm me out of the blue and we exchanged numbers. She called me and we were instant friends. How I meet Telisha was even more random. There was this young girl who lost all of her hair. Her story was on IG. The little girl was bullied because she had no hair. I was so touched by her story. I saw that Telisha commented on the post. I asked her if she had more information about the story. Through that conversation other followed. Now Telisha has become my Sister.
