We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Stacey Moran a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Stacey thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
Wedding content creation is a brand new wedding vendor service that is completely disrupting the Wedding industry at the moment. Wedding content creation is less than two years old and when I started BTS Bride around January 2023, there were probably only 2-3 people offering this service. I knew that I could bring my expertise in social media marketing, management, and content creation to elevate this experience for my couples and clients!
Since capturing my first wedding in March 2023, I’ve grown my team to 8 other content creators that work under my creative direction and we’ve captured behind-the-scenes content for over 60 weddings.
My business BTS Bride and our content has been featured in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Vogue, Martha Stewart Weddings, ELLE, and Over The Moon.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Stacey Moran and I’m the Founder and Lead Wedding Content Creator of BTS Bride. BTS stands for behind-the-scenes as my company captures all of these moments for our couples and client’s wedding days.
After planning my own wedding in June 2022, I fell in love with the wedding industry but realized I had to rely on my bridesmaids and guests to capture the iPhone content I so wanted to share with my social media community the day after my wedding. I’ve had a career in social media and content creation for almost 10 years now and I’ve had the pleasure of working with clients such as Shani Darden Skin Care and Studio, Amy Porterfield, Priyanka Chopra, and many more.
I came up with the idea of BTS Bride in January 2023 and since then my team and I have captured behind the scenes content for over 60 weddings. We already have over 30 weddings booked for the 2024 wedding season.
What makes our work as wedding content creators truly unique is that we’re right there alongside the couple throughout their entire wedding day or weekend, capturing all those spontaneous, behind-the-scenes moments in an easy to consume format with our iPhones. We’re all about documenting the real emotions and essence of one of the most important days of their lives, and we deliver all of that content to them in 24 hours so they can relive it the very next day.
Capturing and sharing iPhone content to relive and celebrate any significant life event is common practice in today’s digital age, so it only feels right that you would do the same for a day as important as your wedding day!
Hiring a wedding content creator allows couples to focus on enjoying their wedding day while we take care of capturing all of these moments for them.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
There have been many moments of resilience while starting my wedding content creation business. I’ve learned so much about the power of communication, advocacy, and education when it comes to introducing a completely new concept to an established industry. Pioneering the idea of wedding content creation has definitely come with its set of challenges and my resilience is put to the test daily.
There have been many situations where I needed to prove my value to potential clients, wedding planners, photographers, and videographers. My goal with BTS Bride is to further elevate the client experience and offer a unique format of content that benefits not only the couple but the entire vendor team involved that makes the wedding day come together so beautifully.
I have been met with so many “no’s”, so many questions about why our service is valued at the prices we set for our creative energy and time, and just overall skepticism from vendors and potential clients.
My hope is that over time, as more people begin to understand and embrace the concept of wedding content creation, the entire industry will start to shift and embrace this new vendor service. This journey has not only shaped my career but has become a testament to the power of resilience especially in the pursuit of innovation.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
At BTS Bride our mission is to empower our clients and couples, along with their friends and family, to be present on their big day, knowing that all of those special behind-the-scenes moments will be captured, and ready for them to relive and share the very next day.
As mentioned, my goal with BTS Bride is to further elevate the client experience and offer a unique format of content that benefits not only the couple but the entire vendor team involved that makes the wedding day come together so beautifully.
