We were lucky to catch up with Stacey Kensinger and Ashley Trinklein recently and have shared our conversation below.
Stacey and Ashley, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
We, Ashley (Occupational Therapy Assistant) and Stacey (Physical Therapist Assistant) met while working together in a skilled nursing facility which also provided home health and outpatient services. We continued to see the same patients come back again and again because once they were discharged from therapy services, they would lose their strength and experience falls or ailments. We joined forces in creating a way that seniors could continue with their fitness routines in order to decrease their fall risk and likelihood of reoccurring hospitalizations.

Stacey, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
As a woman and Veteran owned small business, we are proud to be celebrating 5 years of helping senior citizens. Not only do we provide fitness regimens for seniors, we also provide peace of mind for their families. We have assisted hundreds of seniors gain strength, confidence, and safety. Our clients’ families feel at ease when they can contact us to check in on their loved ones. We provide an elevated personal training service because we are BOTH therapists and senior fitness trainers, which allows a cost-effective way to remain healthy, active, or even recover from an injury or ailment. We are unique in that we can provide senior fitness/rehab services at a cost-effective price, and we come to you! No equipment necessary.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Both of us are therapists first, neither of us expected that we would own a business in our lives, but we saw the need and decided to take the leap. Neither of us had experience or formal business education prior to opening the business. We both had to rely on each other and those around us to learn as we went along and grew. Learning to own a business together has made our dedication to the partnership stronger and more resilient.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
We have a great team of highly vetted trainers that we trust, which allows us to give them the freedom to structure their day and visits. Being former home health therapists, we decided to structure the business in a way that we would want to work for a company like ours. We value our trainers, their time, and enjoy bringing on employees who will keep a positive rapport with our clients. We have 5 star rating amongst all platforms and we show our appreciation with positive reinforcement and respect for our trainers.
