We recently connected with Stacey Haile and have shared our conversation below.
Stacey , appreciate you joining us today. Have you ever had an amazing boss, mentor or leader leading you? Can you us a story or anecdote that helps illustrate why this person was such a great leader and the impact they had on you or their team?
My boss, Michael Chester, is the owner of Everest Therapy Solutions in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. He is an incredible mentor and leader, along with being an extremely successful therapist that genuinely connects with his clients. He puts the clients first at all times and always has their best interests at heart. Michael will go above and beyond to ensure everyone is taken care of, whether that is at his practice or elsewhere. This is my first experience as a Clinical Coordinator, and he has been very patient and encouraging with me, receptive to my feedback and opinions, and offers me a variety of opportunities to help me grow my knowledge and skills. He always makes it his priority to allow time for his clients and colleagues to ensure they feel supported and valued for all they do.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am the Clinical Coordinator for Everest Therapy Solutions. Before I had my daughter, I was the Recipient Services Manager at East Cooper Meals on Wheels. I put my career on hold to stay home and spend time raising her. 9 months later, I happened to read this job description online and immediately felt like it was the perfect fit for me. I was hesitant to start working again since I had been so enamored with my new role as a mother, but this job allowed me to work from home while also giving me the opportunity to use my organizational and administrative skills that I enjoy so much. I have always sought out jobs where I can serve others and help make a difference in the community, because I find it very motivating and fulfilling. As the Clinical Coordinator, I speak to potential clients that reach out to inquire about our practice and set up individual and couple’s therapy. I either help prepare them for their first appointment with us or refer them to other practices in the community that are a better fit based on what they are looking for. I have personally experienced the many benefits of therapy and finding the right person to talk to, so helping clients prioritize their mental health makes me hopeful and optimistic for them as they invest in themselves. I enjoy the relationships I cultivate with the clients, and know that when they meet with one of the therapists at ETS, they are in amazing care because my colleagues are truly incredible.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
I can do my job according to the policies that are in place, but if I don’t have empathy and patience with the clients, I would not be as successful in my role. Clients and family members that reach out may feel doubtful, defeated, and uncertain about starting or continuing therapy. The best way I can make them feel comfortable and encouraged to push forward past their doubts is to share that I recognize this and I am here to lead them to a therapist that will help them navigate these difficult feelings. One of my favorite parts of this job is once I initially set up their first appointment, they call back for various reasons, and many will tell me how therapy is really making a difference in their lives, how they have bonded with their therapist, and that their experience with Everest Therapy Solutions has been second to none because it is evident that everyone truly cares about them and they feel supported here. This means so much to us because we want to make sure they find value in attending therapy. The relationships we have with our clients are so important to us, and we all work together to guide them on a path to reach their goals.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
A number of clients that call are experiencing high stress and emotional situations. It is my responsibility to remain calm and understanding as I speak with them, and immediately focus on the most efficient way to set them up with resources that will assist them. My priority is to always professionally support them and understand that even if they have heightened emotions during the call, I am the one they are relying on for help and encouragement. I stay determined and never give up on finding ways to support them. The owner of ETS, Michael Chester, makes it his priority to be actively involved and wants to help as many people as he can. We will collaborate on how to resolve a sensitive situation while utilizing his extensive knowledge and expertise in this field. I will call clients back as many times as needed to ensure that they are getting the support they deserve. I will also refer them to additional resources in the community and will contact these places to inform them of the situation and that a potential client may be reaching out for help. I find this work to be so rewarding and feel so fortunate to be a part of such a strong and caring team!
