We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Stacey Diaz a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Stacey, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you tell us about an important lesson you learned while working at a prior job?
My pivotal lesson as a business owner stems from my time as a production manager in television production. The demanding nature of that role, with its long hours and high-pressure situations, ingrained in me the paramount importance of a strong work ethic.
During a particularly challenging project, where unforeseen obstacles threatened success, I learned the value of diligence, resilience, and attention to detail. These qualities are now the bedrock of my approach to business ownership.
The ability to stay committed, organized, and focused has proven indispensable in navigating the complexities of Real Estate. My work ethic, honed in the fast-paced world of television, continues to guide me, reminding me that success requires more than just talent—it demands unwavering dedication and a commitment to excellence.
Stacey, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m thrilled to share my journey with you. My professional story began in the high-pressure world of television production, where I contributed my skills to shows like American Idol (where I met my husband), Booze Traveler, Hunting Hitler, Love in the Wild, US Open Tennis, and Thursday Night Football. The long hours and demanding nature of the industry instilled in me an insane work ethic that continues to set me apart in my current career as a real estate broker.
The shift to real estate was prompted by the seismic changes brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a pivotal moment for me to reevaluate my goals, and with a lifelong interest in real estate, I decided to take the plunge into a field I had always wanted to explore. The decision to become a realtor turned out to be the best one I’ve ever made.
In my role as a real estate broker, I offer a range of services geared towards helping clients navigate the complexities of buying and selling properties. Whether it’s finding the perfect home, negotiating deals, or providing strategic guidance for investments, I’m dedicated to delivering personalized solutions that align with each client’s unique needs.
I initially joined the Bend Relo team, where I had the privilege of learning the ropes from industry experts like David Keyte and Stormy Clark. Their mentorship and the immersive experience on the team equipped me with the knowledge and confidence needed to transition to an independent realtor.
What sets me apart is not just my background in television production, which has cultivated a meticulous attention to detail and a strong work ethic, but also my commitment to continuous learning and client satisfaction. I take pride in approaching each real estate transaction with enthusiasm, transparency, and a genuine desire to help my clients achieve their goals.
I want potential clients, followers, and fans to know that I bring a unique blend of creativity, discipline, and dedication to the real estate industry. Whether you’re a first-time homebuyer or a seasoned investor, I am here to guide you through the process with integrity and expertise.
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
Let me tell you about how I teamed up with my awesome business partner, Alexandria Bolden. It all started when I was at a crossroads in my real estate journey, thinking about making a move from my old brokerage. Naturally, I hit up Alex for the lowdown on joining Engel & Völkers. She’d been killing it at Engel & Völkers for a while and, bonus, we both came from the same previous brokerage, so she had the inside scoop.
Our first meet-up was this total stroke of luck – we grabbed lunch, and bam, instant connection. I felt totally chill with Alexandria from the get-go. We chatted about real estate, shared war stories, and found out we were pretty much on the same wavelength about where we wanted our careers to go.
The kicker is that Alex was on the brink of becoming a mom, and even with all that excitement, our professional bond just deepened. She asked me to assist on a transaction just as she was due and that is when we realized we made a killer team, covering each other’s backs and navigating real estate challenges like pros. From then on, it’s been an amazing ride, and the rest is pretty much history!
Teaming up with Alex isn’t just about business; it’s like having a work BFF who shares your goals and values. We bring a mix of skills, dedication, and good vibes to our clients, making sure their real estate journeys are not just successful but also a ton of fun.
Our story is all about the power of real connections. I’m grateful the universe brought Alex and I together, and with our shared vision, resilience, and respect for each other, we’re ready to keep making waves in the world of real estate.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Real estate is a bit of a wild ride! It’s like being on a roller coaster, and trust me, the twists and turns keep things interesting. Picture this: interest rates playing hopscotch, property values doing a dance of their own, and low inventory throwing in some unexpected plot twists.
Interest rates are the mood-makers of the market. One day they’re up, the next they’re down, and the whole game changes. We’ve got to stay on our toes, keeping an eye on those rates because they can totally sway the buying and selling vibes. It’s like predicting the weather, but instead of rain or shine, it’s about whether it’s a good time to snag that dream home or wait it out.
Then there’s the heartbeat of the whole show—property values. They’re like the rockstars of real estate, always in the limelight. But, here’s the kicker: they’re influenced by this wild mix of economic stuff, local trends, and who knows what else. So, as real estate pros, we’ve got to play detective and figure out the magic number that’ll make everyone happy.
And let’s not forget the low inventory situation. It’s like trying to find a needle in a haystack for our clients. Limited options mean buyers are flexing their negotiation muscles, and sellers get to feel like real estate royalty. It’s a bit of a game, and we’re here to make sure everyone comes out feeling like they just won a round.
Despite the roller coaster vibes, I love this gig. The ups and downs keep me on my toes, and there’s nothing more satisfying than helping our clients navigate through the twists and turns of real estate chaos.
