We were lucky to catch up with Stacey Caron recently and have shared our conversation below.
Stacey, appreciate you joining us today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?
I started “Stacey Snacks” as a small, local catering business in 2008, cooking lunches for local realtor open houses.
Food blogs were very new at the time, and there was no social media.
People were asking for my recipes, and I had no way to get them out, so I started writing a food blog, using a google format (blogger), and being very authentic, using my casual way of speaking.
People got to know me, and the rest is history.
My easy approach to home cooking using local NJ produce caught on quickly, and my website became one of the top 100 cooking blogs in the country.
Fast forward to 2025, I now promote and feature talented new chefs and restaurants here in the tri-state area, and travel to France 3 times a year with culinary groups to promote new Paris wine bars & restaurants geared towards American travelers.
My catering days are over and food blogs are becoming a thing of the past, so now I cook mostly for instagram and am working on my first cookbook, due out next year!!
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I have always loved to cook and eat. I wish I had gone to culinary school instead of an academic education geared towards other interests when I was younger.
I am a self taught cook, learned out of my love for food and good healthy ingredients.
It’s never too late to learn or start a business of your own!

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I am in my 16th year of writing and recipe testing and I think social media has changed the landscape for people like me.
So many people want to travel with me to Europe on culinary tours (which I host 3x per year), and the collaboration opportunities just keep on growing via platforms like instagram.
It is a very exciting time to be a creative in any field, but especially the food business!
I look forward to waking up every morning and creating a new recipe and meeting so many creative chefs, purveyors and photographers in the food industry.
