Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Stacey Band. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Stacey thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
As a young child, I always wanted to be a teacher and after numerous years of education and related professional experiences, I entered my own Montessori classroom as an intern. I was ready to take on the challenge – set up an entire classroom for 30 students, ages 2 1/2-6 years old, from scratch in less than 2 weeks, and trained my team of teachers! Challenging, yes, but possible, ABSOLUTELY!
Over the course of 8 years, I advanced through all of the available positions within the school, landing as Assistant Head of School; where I remained for 3 years. In this role, I was able to interact with more families, children, and staff. Through this experience, I realized that I could help more families than just those in my classroom or enrolled at my school. I decided to start writing, a lot! Now, more than five years later, I have 70 FREE articles readily available for parents, WORLDWIDE!
I am motivated by the opportunity to help others feel and be successful in their lives and relationships with their kiddos (at home and or in the classroom). This theme rings true throughout my life and work in non-profits and education. I love creating experiences for children of all ages, and working directly with parents and teachers to encourage ways to foster better relationships with kids.

Stacey, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Home Day Hero provides parents, educators, educational institutions, families, and children with a variety of resources. I’ve assisted hundreds of students in the learning processes surrounding developing the fine-motor skills, experiences, and knowledge necessary to properly hold a writing utensil, create lines, write letters, become emergent readers, and excel academically. Through these experiences, I recognized that each child has a need and often times an innate desire to practice preliminary skills to support their fine motor development. Alongside an illustrator, I created a Fine Motor Skills and Letter Writing Workbook that I shipped around the country!
Home Day Hero continues to expand its’ services to offer training programs and articles through HiMama and Toddle, academic components for students, curriculum for reading tutors, fine motor skills experiences and handwriting books for children; along with activity guides (in English and Spanish) for parents and caregivers to provide children with well-rounded experiences at home and school.
Most recently, I completed a manuscript to further support families, parents, and teachers worldwide. I am currently looking to secure a reputable Publisher in the United States!

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Home Day Hero is based upon the goal of building strong foundations for young children through supporting adults and empowering children. Our services work to enhance lives of families through thoughtful, meaningful support, and provide resources that guide parents and caregivers in furthering their children’s success.
In today’s high-tech world, it was important to meet with a graphic designer, build my brand and create a logo representative of the brand. Additionally, it was important to secure selected social media profiles and build a website to provide consistency for the brand. It was also vital to create sufficient content, including a variety of articles on various, meaningful topics and service offerings, based upon families and educational institutions’ needs.
Social media helped to fuel connections and opportunities worldwide. Articles and social media posts helped to inform and enlighten people regarding Home Day Hero’s services. I immediately started to build a mailing list, encouraged people to join the mailing list, and reinforced encouraging people to share their experiences, feedback, and word-of-mouth recommendations.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Starting your own business can be daunting, as everything relies on YOU! In order to be successful, you must be organized, determined, resilient, focused, and innovative. It’s also helpful and beneficial to create a community of like-minded business owners to serve as a sounding board and support system.
In the months and years that both of my kiddos were home, having my own business definitely had its’ benefits and challenges. It was during these time that it was most crucial to identify protected times to ensure that my work could receive the attention it needed; despite our busy home life.
In the last 18-months, I strategically pivoted away from daily posting on social media to focus on finalizing my manuscript, developing other services, trainings, and courses to be enjoyed and utilized worldwide!
