We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Spiritual Sundaze a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Spiritual thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Spiritual Sundaze began with three women, Mojgahn, Jasmine, and Sandy, who, on their own paths, were already exploring personal spirituality in ways that felt healing, grounding, and real.
Mojgahn and Jasmine are cousins who grew up in Mexican (and Persian for Mojgahn) households where spiritual rituals and practices were a quiet but constant presence. Sandy was raised in a strict Catholic home, but her journey began when her sibling started questioning traditional faith and introduced her to alternative spiritual tools like tarot.
The three of them first met all together during the pandemic. Mojgahn and Sandy had met through their partners, and when Sandy (who is a licensed manicurist) offered to do her nails, Jasmine came too. What was meant to be a quick nail session turned into hours-long conversations about tarot, healing, astrology, crystals, and everything you’d talk about during a girlie, soul-nourishing sleepover. There was a ton of laughter, deep reflection, and a sense of ease that stuck with all of them. Something that was also so necessary during those times.
As time went on, they continued to gather in each other’s homes, sometimes pulling cards, sometimes just venting and holding space, typically with a joint in rotation. But always leaving feeling lighter, more connected, and more centered. That feeling became their compass as they realized: we’re not the only ones who need this kind of space on a regular basis.
By 2024, each of them felt stuck in jobs that didn’t reflect who they were or what they cared about. Jasmine had developed deep knowledge in crystals and jewelry from a previous job, Sandy had expanded her tarot and sound bath practice, and Mojgahn was craving something more meaningful. Together, they saw an opportunity to create something that wasn’t really around in their city: a modern, accessible, and inclusive spiritual wellness space where people could connect, reset, and feel like themselves.
Los Angeles is full of wellness events, but many of them felt out of reach or disconnected from real life. Spiritual Sundaze was born to change that, to bring approachable spirituality, feel good moments, and community together in a way that feels like home.
What excites them most is creating spaces and sharing tools that help people walk away feeling lighter, grounded, and reconnected to themselves.
Starting a business and building community is never easy, but it’s more than worth the risk. It’s about belonging, healing, and the power of coming home to yourself, together. Again, something that is so necessary during challenging, unpredictable times.

Spiritual, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Mojgahn works in the social media and content marketing space. Before that she worked in education as a dance teacher. Her experience with building communities both in person and online gave her the vision for what Spiritual Sundaze could be.
Jasmine’s journey began in the hospitality world, where she developed a love for connecting with people. A few years later, she found herself working with an online jewelry brand, which reignited a childhood fascination with crystals and all things that shimmer. As she learned more about their properties and significance, she felt inspired to share that magic with others. Co-creating Spiritual Sundaze has been one of the most rewarding, challenging, and exciting experiences of her life.
Sandy’s spiritual journey began in her early twenties when a coworker invited her to an essential oil party, which led to her first sound bath. This experience sparked a deeper curiosity in metaphysical practices. She became a licensed nail tech and started offering tarot readings to clients, then earned her Reiki I certification during the pandemic, deepening her connection to energy healing. Along the way, she explored breathwork and the Akashic Records but found her true passion in sound healing. Today, Sandy combines sound bowls and tarot to provide grounded, intuitive support to those on their spiritual paths.
As a collective, they outlined their goals, vision, and their individual strengths from all experiences and walks of life to bring Spiritual Sundaze to life.
Spiritual Sundaze began as a way to build community for all the things that they love: feeling good, connecting to people, and doing things that helps them get grounded in a chaotic world.
They are most proud of making the decision to create this business and want people to know that they would love to welcome you in our Spiritual Sundaze community!

Do you have multiple revenue streams – if so, can you talk to us about those streams and how your developed them?
We want to branch out and provide services at events in addition to the ones we create. We plan to do personal or small group events like birthdays, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, and birthdays and larger group events like wellness events, retreats, and corporate events. We also plan to offer virtual 1-on-1 card readings and pre-recorded sound baths.

We’d love to hear your thoughts about selling platforms like Amazon/Etsy vs selling on your own site.
Currently, we sell on our site SpiritualSundaze.com through Squarespace.
However, we started with our website through Square because it provides an in person POS system. Once we were able to invest a little more, we switched over to host our website through Square space where have all our inventory and services are updated. We still use the Square as our POS system but have both accounts connected. The pro is that they work together. The con is the cost of 2 separate systems.
We are still in the baby stages of building our business and learning a lot along the way. We are simultaneously learning about building our business with working full time and part time jobs, but excited about it all and looking forward to potentially expanding onto other platforms.
