We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Spiria . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Spiria below.
Alright, Spiria thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
Our first album Where the Pink Blossoms Resonate came out in September of 2023. We worked on it for a long time before heading into the studio to record it. Being siblings, we grew together loving a lot of the same music, and it was always something we wanted to be able to create together. We spent a lot of time talking about what we wanted the album to become before performing live and recording the music. To me, the songs explore the experience of moving into adulthood and all of the strange emotions that come with it, but also how connecting back to your inner child can help you grow even further on the path to self discovery.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
We got into music organically together when we were young. it was always fun to play songs together, and it wasn’t until we were both in college that we decided to actually form a project for ourselves. Getting to grow our songs into something that feels more personally ambitious has been a very fun process for us to go through together.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Creating music is something we love to do, and when someone is able to connect with our music on a personal level, it feels very special and inspires us to keep doing it. Every time we perform at a show and someone expresses the positive impact from our music, it is a motivator to keep creating and also validates what we love to do and share with others.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
One of our main goals has always been to connect with a deep part of ourselves, which can show in many different ways. But being able to bring out something that is very deep to us and share it is always meaningful for us, and it continues to feel right for us to collaborate with each other on this project.
