We recently connected with Spencer Strain and have shared our conversation below.
Spencer, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
Yes. I started writing poetry in 2007. At that time, I was going through a dark phase dealing with extreme social anxiety and depression. I never looked at poetry serious until I returned back to writing in 2017.
Spencer, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hello! My name is Spencer Strain and I am the CEO/founder of Dip Drip LLC. Dip Drip LLC was founded on June 19, 2020. I got into this business as one of my friends was having a video shoot for one of his songs. He told me that it was a cookout and that everyone was going to be bringing food! It turns out that I was the only one that brought food. I had two pans of Buffalo Chicken Dip and did not think it would be enough for everyone to have. It turns out I brought enough and everyone fell in love with the product! I am a caterer of sorts that makes dip that is perfect for any special occasion (i.e. birthdays, weddings, sports events, etc.) that is enough to feed a crowd of at least 25 people but can feed up to 150 people or more. I am also a poet that goes by the stage name King Luche. I have been writing poetry since 2007 and have been performing since 2018. I am also a soon to be self-published author that will be having a book entitled “Infatuated Desires” hitting the bookshelves soon and also on Amazon. I am one of the most hardest working individuals that takes their passion for poetry and also cooking seriously to ensure that my clients and fans are left satisfied!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding thing about being an artist or creative is the number of other artists or creatives you come across that does exactly what you do. As a poet, I get a thrill of just watching and hearing other poets speak whether that it is in person or on an open mic online via Instagram, Facebook, Clubhouse, etc. It keeps my drive going to be one of the best poets to ever come out of my city!
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Honestly, the audience was built naturally across my social media platforms. I have business cards that I pass out at different shows whether I am performing or selling my dip. I make sure that my clients and followers have a way to reach me across all social media platforms. I am still learning a bit along the way on how to continuously have a strong following through my platforms.
