We recently connected with Spencer Phillips and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Spencer, thanks for joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?

I hope my legacy will be filled with purpose and passion. I want to serve as an example for future generations, preserving memories and teaching valuable life lessons. Monster + Ghost is step in that direction as it underlines all of my effort.

Spencer, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I launched Monster + Ghost in 2019 to further my obsession with creating. Monster + Ghost is a luxury home fragrance line for people moved by art, luxury, and culture. Our candles and incense use all-natural ingredients and natural and essential oils. Monster + Ghost is currently sold worldwide and featured in 50+ speciality boutiques across the U.S., Canada, and Europe.

Okay – so how did you figure out the manufacturing part? Did you have prior experience?

Monster + Ghost prides itself in creating small-batch hand-made products. I do all of the manufactuing and marketing myslef. I learned how manufacturing works by researching tips and techniques. Trust me, this wasnt a small task. After being in business for four years, I still find that I’m learning and growing. I’ve learned that if you have a great product vendors will come to you.

How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.
