We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Spencer Greene a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Spencer, appreciate you joining us today. Do you have an agent or someone (or a team) that helps you secure opportunities and compensation for your creative work? How did you meet you, why did you decide to work with them, why do you think they decided to work with you?
Meeting my agent, Diana, was quite serendipitous. In 2021, I attended a birthday party at a bar in North Hollywood, not expecting much from the night. However, things took an unexpected turn when I struck up a conversation with a friend’s acquaintance named Diana. She mentioned that she was in the process of launching a new agency called Pandium Fusion.
Initially, I was skeptical and took the time to research the agency’s reputation, but couldn’t find much information since it was so new. Despite my reservations, Diana’s drive and tenacity left a lasting impression on me. Her passion for the industry and commitment to her agency convinced me to take a leap of faith.
As it turns out, it was the right decision. Since signing with Pandium Fusion, I’ve been consistently receiving auditions, and the opportunities keep rolling in. I recently renewed my contract for another year, and I couldn’t be happier with how things are progressing. The unexpected encounter at that birthday party turned out to be a pivotal moment in my career, and I’m grateful for the positive trajectory my journey has taken since then.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a versatile performer with a passion for the arts, encompassing acting, stunt work, voice acting, and motion capture. My journey began in high school when I discovered my love for acting during a theater class. Encouraged by my teacher, Mr. Misoni, I auditioned for the high school play and secured the lead supporting role, setting the stage for my future pursuits.
Throughout high school, I continued to hone my skills in theater and musical theater. Eager to further my education, I enrolled at San Jose State University, where I simultaneously delved into film production. To enhance my acting prowess, I took a significant step by applying and enrolling at the prestigious American Conservatory Theater.
While immersing myself in the world of theater, I also explored the technical side of the industry by working as a camera assistant on various commercial projects throughout the Bay Area. This dual focus allowed me to develop a well-rounded understanding of the entertainment industry, combining my passion for performance with a hands-on approach to production.
One of my defining traits is my commitment to continuous improvement. I make it a point to train every day, never allowing excuses to hinder my progress. This dedication, coupled with my diverse skill set, has enabled me to excel in multiple facets of the entertainment industry, from traditional acting to the physical demands of stunt work and the nuanced art of voice acting and motion capture. My journey so far has been shaped by a relentless pursuit of excellence and a love for the craft in all fields of performance and action. I am excited to see where my multifaceted skills will take me in the future.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Embarking on a career in the entertainment industry was a significant pivot for me, challenging the conventional path I had initially envisioned. Growing up, I was raised in a family with more traditional expectations – secure a job, find a spouse, and start a family. While pursuing a future in tech or production seemed like the logical choice, I found myself yearning for something more fulfilling and personally rewarding.
At a certain point, I decided to take a bold 180-degree turn and follow my passion for acting, stunts, and voiceover work. This shift was not without its risks, as the entertainment industry is known for its unpredictability and challenges. I had meticulously planned a different trajectory for my life, but the allure of creating, learning, and self-improvement became too strong to ignore.
The decision to pursue a career in entertainment meant stepping into the unknown, with uncertainties about financial stability and my own talent lingering in the background. It was a departure from the structured 9-5 lifestyle that I was accustomed to, evolving into a 24-hour-a-day commitment that required dedication, resilience, and a willingness to take risks.
Choosing this unconventional path wasn’t just about impressing others; it was a deliberate choice to focus on personal growth and the pursuit of my true passions. While the journey has been challenging, it has also been incredibly rewarding. I’ve learned to embrace the uncertainties, navigate the complexities of the industry, and, most importantly, discover a profound sense of fulfillment in creating and expressing myself through acting, stunts, and voiceover work. This pivot has not only shaped my professional identity but has also allowed me to authentically live a life that aligns with my passions and values.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative, for me, is the constant opportunity for self-discovery and personal growth. It’s the ability to push myself beyond perceived limits, constantly asking, “What can I learn? What can I do to make myself better?” The creative process becomes a journey of continuous improvement, both artistically and personally.
Creating something that will last forever adds an enduring legacy to this exploration. Knowing that my work will be there, allowing me to reflect on my past self and experiences, is a unique and timeless aspect of being an artist. I can envision myself at 80 years old, laughing at the memories and appreciating the journey that brought me to that point.
The ability to create something that withstands the test of time becomes a source of pride and a reminder of the creative journey undertaken over the years. It’s a testament to the growth, challenges, and joys experienced throughout the creative process.
