We were lucky to catch up with Spencer Davidson recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Spencer, thanks for joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?

The most rewarding aspect has to be the freedom to express the type of music I find most inspiring. I love being able to create the music I’m most passionate about. Drum & Bass is my favorite type of dance music, and it has inspired me to develop a new style I call “World Drum & Bass.” With that, I’ve been continuously releasing music to showcase my art.

My latest EP is out Friday, 11/1/24, on Lunar Bass Records.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

The Story:

Thousands of years into the future, Earth has been abandoned, its resources exhausted. Humanity, known as Earth folk, has found a new home on Azlan, a planet 40,000 light-years away, orbiting a star ten times brighter than Earth’s dying Sun. To survive on this harsh new world, the Azlantians wear advanced glasses to shield themselves from blindness. They’ve developed technology that harnesses sound as a weapon, using synth-like instruments to create devastating projectiles of plasma and dark matter. Azlan has become a hostile environment, dominated by conflict.

Branded as unworthy to remain on Azlan because I chose peace over war, I was exiled to Earth, in the present day. Here, I discovered that I could channel my powers through sound, using music to spread a message of peace. Earth folk now call me Azlan, in honor of the world I left behind. This is my story.

The Mission

My mission is to promote peace through my music, using it to alter the course of Earth’s future and prevent its destruction. Influenced by the genres of “Dark Tropic” and “World Music,” my language is Drum & Bass. My goal is to inspire change and harmony with every beat.

Live Performances:

I am known for my electrifying and interactive live shows, where I bring unparalleled energy and connection with the audience. I’ve had the privilege of performing at major festivals like Sci-Fighter, Electric Future, Lightning in the Bottle, Burning Man, the Youtopia Festival in California City, and Bequinox. My extensive tours across the United States have left a lasting impact, with unforgettable performances at some of the country’s most prestigious clubs and venues.

My mission is to be the very best Like No one ever was!

Nowadays, there are countless YouTube videos available that explain exactly how to do almost anything. I would bet my career on it! YouTube has been an incredible resource, especially in my early years because it provides visually and audibly in-depth explanations.
