We were lucky to catch up with Soulara Sevier recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Soulara, thanks for joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
From as early as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to helping people. Maybe it’s because I’m the third child of six—born into a family dynamic that demanded observation, empathy, and a kind of instinctive leadership. I found myself constantly aware of the needs around me. I noticed how people leaned in when they spoke to me, how they opened up. Even at a young age, complete strangers would share their deepest challenges with me—at grocery stores, in school hallways, at family gatherings. I didn’t know it then, but I was already holding space for healing.
By the time I was old enough to think about my future, I was certain: I would become a doctor. My pediatrician had made an impression on me—not just her presence, but the feeling of safety and care I experienced in her office. I envisioned myself in a similar role, surrounded by patients whose lives I could make better.
After much reflection, I landed on psychiatry. It felt like the perfect fusion of science and soul. I was always the listener, the guide, the intuitive one. Psychiatry gave me a formal outlet to do what I already loved: helping people navigate the terrain of their emotions and inner worlds.
I committed fully. I spent my primary and secondary years focused and intentional. I was accepted into one of the nation’s top undergraduate programs—an ideal springboard into medical school. Everything was going according to plan.
But then, something shifted.
It wasn’t the coursework. It wasn’t doubt. It was a detail I uncovered about life after medical school—residency. More specifically: the concept of being on call. The idea of being tethered to a pager, responding to emergencies at all hours, sacrificing rest, freedom, and peace—it rattled me to my core. On a primal level, it felt like a violation of something sacred. And that’s when the inner conflict began.
Here I was, standing at the edge of a dream I had built my entire young life around—and suddenly, I realized it might not actually be mine anymore.
It was terrifying. The pressure to stay the course was immense. Family, friends, mentors—they had cheered me on for years. But I knew that if I ignored my intuition now, it would cost me later.
So, I took a risk.
I chose to bet on myself and walk away. I released the white coat dream and gave myself permission to explore a new path—one that would still allow me to serve, but without self-sacrifice.
At the time, it felt like stepping into the unknown with no safety net. But today, nearly three decades later, I know it was the most important risk I’ve ever taken.
My journey has come full circle. I am still deeply rooted in healing and care—just through a more holistic lens. I’ve created a life and career where I help high-impact leaders, executives, and organizations heal, realign, and return to wholeness. I didn’t become a psychiatrist, but I became something perhaps even more expansive: a soul-centered strategist for wellness.
That risk taught me this: Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is change your mind—and honor the future your soul is actually asking for.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’ve dedicated over 25 years to service in the fields of psychology, cardiac nursing, and energy healing. My work exists at the intersection of science, spirit, and strategy—bridging emotional well-being, whole-body support, and high performance for today’s healthcare and wellness leaders.
My business, Soul Suite Wellness™, was born out of both professional experience and personal transformation. I created it to support high-impact leaders and teams across micro and enterprise healthcare and wellness organizations—especially those who are navigating the ever-growing crisis of staffing shortages, burnout, and emotional fatigue.
I know the reality firsthand. I spent years on the front lines of healthcare, pouring from an empty cup in the name of duty, care, and service. I witnessed the same patterns in colleagues—leaders burning bright, and burning out. One day, my body forced me to stop. I nearly collapsed mid-shift and became a patient in the very hospital I served. That moment—jarring and humbling—became the turning point.
It was there, in a hospital bed, that I realized how unsustainable our current systems have become. I knew I had to do more than recover—I had to reimagine how we care for the caregivers. That insight became my mission: to help organizations build cultures of sustainable wellness, where people and performance can thrive together.
Through Soul Suite Wellness™, I now provide evidence-informed, soul-aligned services that meet this moment with both compassion and precision.
Here’s what we offer:

I’m proud to say our work helps leaders return to themselves—and to the original purpose behind their work. We help restore not just energy, but meaning.
If there’s one thing I want people to know about me and my brand, it’s this:
Wellness isn’t a luxury. It’s a leadership strategy. And when you lead from wholeness, everyone wins—your team, your mission, and your legacy.
What I’m most proud of is that I had the courage to honor my inner truth—even when it meant walking away from a lifelong dream and stepping into the unknown.
I’m proud that I turned my own experience of burnout into a blueprint for healing, not just for myself, but for the leaders and teams I now serve through Soul Suite Wellness™.
I created this brand from the ground up as a soul-led response to a deep crisis I saw in the healthcare and wellness industries: a culture of chronic overgiving, under-receiving, and disconnection from self.
I knew we needed more than just surface-level wellness perks—we needed sustainable, soul-rooted systems of care that support both the individual and the organization. That’s exactly what I’ve built.
At Soul Suite Wellness™, we help organizations shift from burnout to balance, from survival mode to intentional leadership.
We do this through holistic wellness coaching, energy healing, strategic wellness programming, and transformative certification experiences. We don’t offer quick fixes—we offer real, embodied change.
What I want potential clients, followers, and partners to know is this:
I’m not here to sell anyone on wellness.
I’m here to remind everyone that your well-being is non-negotiable.
I want people to know that working with me is not just about stress management—it’s about soul alignment, intuitive leadership, and building conscious workplaces where people don’t just work—they thrive.
Whether you’re a C-suite leader, a wellness director, or a frontline professional—you deserve to feel grounded, clear, and whole. And I’m here to help you get there.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
Other than training and knowledge—which are foundational—what I believe is most essential for succeeding in this field is embodiment.
You can have the degrees, certifications, and the perfect strategy—but if you haven’t lived what you teach… if you haven’t walked through the fire, integrated your own healing, and aligned your work with your truth… people can feel the disconnect. And in the wellness space—especially when serving high-impact leaders who are used to reading energy and navigating pressure—authenticity is everything.
Success in this field comes from being a living example of the transformation you offer. For me, that means honoring rest, prioritizing my own well-being, and operating from alignment—not depletion. It’s also about developing deep listening skills, emotional intelligence, and spiritual integrity.
Clients don’t just come to me for what I know.
They come for who I am—and how I hold space.
So if you’re called to this path, remember: Your presence is just as powerful as your credentials. The work you do in the quiet moments—on your mat, at your altar, in your healing—is the real foundation for the work you do in the world.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
What helped me build my reputation within my market wasn’t just the services I offer—it was the energy and intention behind them.
In a saturated wellness industry, I chose not to blend in, but to stand firmly in my truth: that wellness isn’t about perfection or performance—it’s about returning to wholeness. I built my reputation by being consistent, soul-centered, and deeply intentional with every connection, collaboration, and conversation. Whether it was a private session, a keynote, or a story I shared on social media, I made sure the experience was felt.
I believe people are drawn to presence. To realness. To those who not only talk about healing—but embody it. My work has never been about chasing followers or fitting trends. It’s been about offering genuine value, showing up vulnerably, and becoming a trusted voice for leaders who are tired of surface-level solutions.
I also credit my reputation to clarity of purpose. Throughout my journey of discovery, I wasn’t just looking for clients—I was searching for the right fit. For years, I explored different audiences, tested different approaches, and refined my message—only to realize that I didn’t have to look far. The people I’m here to serve are a reflection of me. High-performing, heart-led individuals who give deeply, feel deeply, and sometimes forget to pour into themselves.
In the end, all I had to do was look straight ahead—right into the mirror. The very leaders I now support are walking versions of who I once was: burned out but brilliant, exhausted yet visionary, committed to healing but unsure where to begin. That moment of recognition was everything. When I aligned with myself, my aligned audience found me.
I know exactly who I serve—high-impact leaders, wellness professionals, and organizations who are ready to shift from burnout to balance. And I speak directly to their pain points with both compassion and a solution-oriented lens.
Lastly, I lead with integrity. I don’t just sell wellness—I live it. I’ve done the inner work. I’ve navigated the burnout. I’ve rebuilt myself. And because I’ve walked that journey, my clients feel safe to walk theirs—with me beside them.
